Sweden 2024 - our summer holiday looks same every year and I couldn’t love it more. Something very special about return somewhere so familiar, where every rock under foot and turn of the road is already lodged in memory. ❤️ by @thehackneygardener

A visit to @somerleyton in Norfolk on a hot July day - truly stunning gardens, well worth a visit.

Peaceful moments from our stay at @frittonlake. Lake swims, pool time, beautiful walks and that amazing floating sauna. Such a lovely weekend!

The Olympic Park planting is looking amazing right now - if you would like to see it, now is the time to go.

You don’t always need to go far for inspiration. My neighbours’ beautiful garden a few doors down, same footprint as mine but a completely different feel. Love the sense of journey you get when walking down this space with different gorgeous seating areas to discover. And that amazing yellow rose like a sunny exclamation mark. A perfect example of roses used beautifully in a contemporary planting scheme.

Thankful to my roses for putting on a great show despite very little attention. I didn’t even feed them this year, still there have been enough blooms to completely fill the air with scent. Gearing myself up for a mammoth deadheading session today to encourage more flowers - the first flush is a dream but the gentler, less over the top repeat flowering is also wonderful.
Have a lovely weekend!

Roses in the rain - just so beautiful. The garden soaked it all up very happily. I’m pleased to see a blue sky this morning though. Enjoy your week ahead everyone!

These summer mornings we have had lately…just so beautiful. The garden is giving me joy and the roses are putting on an amazing show despite semi neglect - I haven’t even fed them, still they look this good. Thankful!

Roses at @bordehillgarden where the rose garden never gets watered - worth bearing in mind that these beauties can cope with more than we think. I’m pretty mean with watering here too and only do it when I really have to, except for the roses in pots which do need a drink in hot weather.

My rose The Generous Gardener is having such a good year. I love the way it is half falling off the trellis, leaning out into the space so the flowers are right in front of my nose as I walk past. The silky fallen petals strewn across the floor, it’s all very extravagant and gorgeous. As you can see I have some deadheading to do - maybe it will happen today, maybe not. Maybe I’ll just smell the roses instead.
