I’ve overthought my way through life — backspaced and rewritten things a dozen times (including this caption).

But somehow, this time, it led me here. And honestly, I still can’t believe it. I mean… how do you even explain the feeling of seeing something so deeply personal, printed, bound, and sent out into the world?🥹

As a kid, I used to dream about this — writing a book, seeing people talk about it, signing the first page. But it always felt like just a dream. Until today.

I didn’t set out to write a book. I just wrote. Scribbles. Unnamed feelings. Tiny moments that slowly grew into stories — some mine, some yours, some somewhere in between. And in the quiet space between healing and hiding, this book was born.

My hands are still trembling as I type this, but here it is:

A year ago today, I put a little piece of myself into the world. 🫶🏻

I remember wondering if anyone would even read it. If anyone would see themselves in my words the way I did. Turns out, they did.

Over the past year, Some TOYS Don’t Break has travelled to countries I’ve never been to, been read on difficult days, found homes on bookshelves, and found its way into hearts I’ll probably never meet.

And somehow, a year later, I still open random pages to find versions of myself I’d forgotten about. Some lines still comfort me. Some surprise me. And some make me wonder how the girl who wrote them already knew what the girl reading them today would need.

I don’t think Some TOYS Don’t Break just captured a version of me. It quietly grew alongside me.

To everyone who picked up a copy, highlighted a page, sent me a message, or simply let it become a small part of your story...
Thank you for giving my words a home outside of me.

Here’s to one year of Some TOYS Don’t Break. I hope it continues finding the people who need it most. 🥹💛

Dear Papa,

It’s funny how sometimes I wish I could go back to the start. Back to being your little girl. Back to a time when life felt simpler. When my biggest concern was probably whether the lamb would sit still long enough for a picture, and yours was making sure I didn’t fall.

Looking back, all I can think about is how quickly it all happened. The little girl grew up, life got busier, and somehow the years passed by much faster than either of us expected.

But you know, some things never really change. You’ll still be the first person I call when I need advice, and probably the only one whose approval I’ll always care about a little more.🥹💌

Of course, I’d already read Off Campus and fangirled my way through it, so naturally I was sitting there kicking my feet the entire time.😭

But who knew this one line would make me appreciate a version of myself I’d spent years outgrowing? The girl who didn’t have it all figured out, who made mistakes, who felt everything a little too deeply.

My favourite kind of girl, actually. The one who, despite every crack, became me.🫶🏻

Life lately has looked a little different.

Somewhere between constantly trying to keep up, always being available & trying to stay inspired all the time, I slowly started feeling emotionally exhausted without even realising it.

So I started taking things slower. Spending more time offline, protecting my peace & learning how to stop rushing. But even through the overthinking, self-doubt & heavy days, life still kept moving — and so did I.

So, here’s a little glimpse of life off the grid lately. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it all together for y’all ☕️🫶🏻
