“Hear me! My knights, proud warriors and true. One day we’ll return together, to our home, bathed in rays of gold.
There is only one tree, and only it’s branches, that bathe in true rays of gold.
Not the fool Omen King, or the rank, malformed twins!
For we are the golden ones, the true and rightful heirs.
Our lands grown old now, ashen and cold.
But, look up! The Erdtree glows!
One day we’ll return together, to our home.
Bathed in rays of gold.”

The Tarnished’s journey begins in Limgrave, or Tenebrae as it once was. The road to the Erdtree is filled with danger, adventure and excitement. These proud warriors of Lord Godfrey would regain their prowess in the southernmost country, taking aim at the occupier of Stormveil Castle; Godrick The Grafted.

So too, is our path influenced by Miquella, as he unwinds his plans to create his vision of a gentler world.

“Pure and radiant, his wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men…there is nothing more frightening.”

This new album ‘Caged Divinity I’ starts our quest for strength, fame and Lordly ambition.

Mark the date - 21st November 2026
For this is when we embark on this adventure.

Robert D. Johnstone’s Haligtree marches forth through vistas of beautiful overworld synth, rock opera ballads and frantic JRPG battle music.
We face off against the forces of Queen Marika’s demigod offspring, have you the courage to join us?

In the end, Miquella awaits.

“The golden heir of light, the red haired lion of might. Our paths were destined to part, though a prodigy, I am still a child at heart.
First and foremost, my closest aid, although her ailments cause her pain.
With my alchemic expertise, at my side is My Loyal Blade.”

The children of Queen Marika now vie for power over one-another, with their own ambitions.
As the Empyrean Miquella moves ever onward in his journey to become a God, memories of their life together in Leyndell permeate in his nascent mind.

Be it known to them or not, some would unwittingly play a part in the grand plan to reach his destiny.
Indeed, he has learned very well how to compel such affection.

The new album ‘Caged Divinity I’ releases this winter.

Take up your arms and leap into the fray.

“Forget what thoust have heard…forget!”

Teaser trailer for the song ‘A Fated Meeting’ from the upcoming Haligtree album ‘Caged Divinity I’ releasing this Winter.

I’ve dealt more in creating character themes for this new album, much in the way that older SNES RPG’s like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI had dedicated scores for characters, I’ve felt inspired to create them for some of Elden Ring’s most beloved supporting cast.

“Demigod or man will be allies in my plan, to make this world a gentler place. All will know my love and bask in gold, now unalloyed.
Between a sun and moon, the buds begin to bloom into flowers in the canopy…of my Haligtree.”

In addition to traditional Dungeon Synth and RPG battle music representing the point of view of our Tarnished Protagonist, The Haligtree expands its repertoire with fully fledged prog rock anthems and power ballads, that tell the story of Miquella’s forlorn journey to save the Lands Between from his perspective.

Embark on this new synth-powered journey to The Lands Between, in the new album ‘Caged Divinity Part I’

THE HALIGTREE / BLADES OF FOLMÄR TAPE PREORDER IS LIVE VIA @blaggardrecords

The Haligtree is a dungeon synth/prog rock project from the mind of multi instrumentalist and composer Robert D. Johnstone. Incorporating elements from the world of JRPG soundtracks of yesteryear, The Haligtree bridges the gap between game music and rock opera.
With this new chapter, Johnstone emboldens the variety of music with the inclusion of traditionally written prog rock anthems & ballads on his journey to reimagine the world of Miyazaki’s Elden Ring.

Blades of Folmär is a dark fantasy ambient project, performed by the ancient and mysterious Ser Folmär. These tracks were inspired by late night plays of the “Crypt of the Serpent King” and reading the Fighting Fantasy classic ‘chose your own adventure’ book “Deathtrap Dungeon”. by @thehaligtree
