@SceneNoise #NewNoise: As a pioneer of Tunisia’s underground electronic scene, DJ, producer, and Eddisco Records head honcho Hamdi Ryder has built a reputation on deep crate-digging, genre fluidity and an unwavering commitment to vinyl culture. Known for his ability to bridge underground dance music with unexpected global samples, from jacking house reworks of Fairuz to intricate, floor-ready cuts, Ryder’s latest offering, ‘Undisputed Truth’, turns its lens onto the rich archives of late ‘60s and early ‘70s Detroit psychedelic soul.

The core inspiration behind the release stems from the criminally underrated Motown outfit The Undisputed Truth. Spearheaded by legendary songwriter and producer Norman Whitfield, the group was instrumental in pushing Motown past its radio-pop origins and into raw, psychedelic soul territory. Whitfield’s pioneering production, defined by heavy wah-wah guitars, cinematic arrangements and darker, socially conscious themes, helped craft some of the most adventurous, forward-thinking records of the era.

Taking a choice slice from this iconic discography, Ryder flips the sample into an intricate, genre-blurring production that brings together house, acid, dub and rock, resulting in a refreshing, intoxicating cut that could become a bold new dancefloor favourite.

BANDCAMP FRIDAY // RELEASE ALERT 🚨

This one goes deep into the Detroit psychedelic soul archives.

For this release, I sampled one of the most underrated Motown groups from the late ’60s and early ’70s: The Undisputed Truth. Produced by the legendary Norman Whitfield, their music pushed soul into psychedelic territory, creating some of the most adventurous and forward-thinking recordings ever to come out of Motown.

I took one of their tracks and flipped it into something entirely different. A fusion of house, acid, dub and rock. A combination of genres I never imagined could coexist until this track came to life.

🚨 RELEASE ALERT 🚨

Some records stay with you forever…

When I was around 13, I discovered Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I remember being fascinated by the music video and the atmosphere of the track. It became one of those records that quietly shaped my musical journey.

I decided to flip the sample into a DJ-friendly tool for the dancefloor.

A small homage to a track that inspired me from the very beginning.

Out now on Bandcamp.
