I didn’t even speak English when I first moved to New York to become an actor

I still remember how embarrassed I was in front of everyone in my first acting class because I couldn’t understand a word of what my acting teacher was trying to say.

I wondered so many nights what would have been different if I had stayed

Would my life have been easier?
Would I have ‘made’ it there?

But one thing I’m learning after more than 10 years of rejection is that if I had never left what was familiar, I would’ve never discovered what I was capable of

beyond my language, beyond my culture beyond my self limiting beliefs…

And I’m so grateful that I stuck with my choice and incredibly feel lucky for this opportunity 🍀

Thank you @kscottdirects for making the 10 years wait so worth it.

Recently whenever people ask me “how you’ve been doing?”this is the word I wish I could say if there’s a right translation for it instead of saying “im fine”

Day 6. ‘$71,000- $1,945 ‘Sales mentorship’ I invested my entire savings were for High ticket sales which could allow me to work remotely anywhere in the world.

It wasn’t for Matcha and Pilates. It was for location freedom so that I can be there for my parents whenever they need me and stay as long as I need.

A lot of people sent me a message about day trading, tech sales etc which I’m open to but I’ll keep trying one thing at a time until it works!!

Still on a hunt to find a job to break into but I’ll keep trying till I get to pay off his 71K debt.

Day 4 $71,000-$302 I’m deeply grateful for everyone who supporting my dad.

My dad has no idea about this but I keep picturing in my head how happy he would feel when I finally get to pay off his debt and it makes this journey so meaningful 🫡🇰🇷

And I wouldn’t be here without my younger brother and want to take some weight off him as an elder sister.

(2/10) Just a loud, stubborn Korean girl from Seoul who was ambitious enough to come to New York 🗽

At first, I was devastated whenever casting asked if I was working on my accent to get rid of it. It made me feel small.

But I’m learning that the very thing I tried so hard to hide is actually what makes me different.

I’m unlearning the belief that I need to hide my accent to feel like I belong.

P.S I still can’t hear the difference between beach and b*tch
So I don’t say those words and I just realized i didn’t go to beach this whole summer 😅
