A little something I have been working on lately...

I'm so happy to share that The Hand Stitched Studio has its own little shop 🥰

It's a place for the embroidery designs I have been creating over the years, inspired by flowers, nature, the changing seasons and all the little things that make life lovely.

Each design is made with the hope that it might bring someone a quiet afternoon, a few happy stitches, or the joy of making something special for someone they love.

You'll find downloadable embroidery patterns with colour inspiration and helpful guidance along the way, plus a beautiful hand stitched gift guide with six bespoke gift tag designs free with every purchase.

It's still early days for my little shop, and there's plenty more I'd love to share with you. For now, I'm simply glad it's here, and I thought it was time to share it with you 💕

If you fancy having a little look, you can find me on Etsy at HandStitchedStudioUK or comment SHOP and I will send you the link.

Thank you for being here and sharing in this little creative corner of the world.

Happy stitching,

I'm so pleased you found your way to The Hand Stitched Studio - a cosy corner of the internet devoted to the quiet joy that comes from a tranquil moment, a warm drink, and the chance to make something beautiful with our hands.

Come and stitch with us, you are most welcome.

Welcome to November's theme for the Quiet Stitch Society...that wise old bird ✨

During my former #creative_sewing_challenge I would get the odd complaint if my prompts were too obscure or abstract, and this one might be one of those occasions!

But honestly, I have gained so much from turning my attention to all things owl over the last few weeks...their feathers, their colours, and the wisdom they represent that can only be gained through age and experience.

Plus they are simply quite fascinating creatures 💕

I'll be sharing my stitching discoveries during the month, and if you feel inspired to do so you can join in too.

And subscribers to my Sunday Letter are being given a beautiful feather phone wallpaper as their free gift this month - link in bio if you'd like to have some slow living loveliness sent to your inbox each Sunday morning.

Wishing you all a wonderful November x

Hello November!

I am anticipating a busy month, with family birthdays and the usual festive preparations beginning to creep into the calendar.

But I admit, I am very much looking forward to seeing the fairy lights start to appear along the streets and in people's windows ✨

What are you most looking forward to this month?

It's that time of year when we start to reflect - on how things have gone and maybe where we would like to go next.

I definitely feel like I am in a sort of autumn of life right now. Some things are dying away, with lots of changes happening...and hopefully much beauty to come ✨

So I guess my three colours would be of that world - deep red, mustard yellow, and perhaps an earthy, grounding brown.

How about you?

I hope whatever today brings it offers you a moment of calm and creativity ✨

The Quiet Stitch Society isn't a club or a membership. There is no subscription, no monthly fee, no special requirements.

It is simply a place for anyone who knows the joy of needle and thread, and the quiet satisfaction of making something with your hands.

If you enjoy slow living, handmade giving and seasonal inspiration, chances are you already belong here - and you are most welcome 💕

Just a little reminder that my collection of mini mushroom embroidery designs are currently 40% off in my Etsy shop.

Stitch them onto napkins or bookmarks, add tiny details to pinafore dresses and aprons, or simply create some gorgeous mini hoop art for your home.

Well it's been one whole month since I started this account and launched my new embroidery design shop ✨

I must admit, I have mixed feelings about this platform - especially at the moment with all the changes imminent about AI. The way we have all become conditioned to perform, to post more and more, to be drawn back into this space daily if we want any chance of success - it's a kind of treadmill I am not sure many people would choose to be on.

But throughout this month I have already made some wonderful connections. I have lost count of the kind comments, the words of encouragement and support, the interesting and inspiring things I have discovered. In just one month.

And as an aspiring on-line creative business owner, it's a space I feel I need to be in.

So I shall keep turning up and focus on the loveliness I find here - and hopefully continue to share some loveliness of my own.

If you would like to stay connected by other means, my Sunday Letter is a weekly note full of studio updates, ideas for seasonal slow living and creative inspiration - plus a little free gift each month.

You can subscribe via the link in my bio - my intention is that every subscriber has something lovely waiting in their inbox each Sunday morning ✨

Until then, here's the highs and lows of trying to build a social media presence in these challenging times...if you are in the same boat I would love to connect, let's navigate this together 💖

Could there be anything nicer than settling down for a cosy afternoon of stitching with a lovely mug of hot chocolate? 💕

This is one of my favourite recipes (although I am always collecting new ones so do share your favourites in the comments 😉).

And if you fancy having a go at this one - warmed with spice and thickened with grated dark chocolate - just comment MUG and I will send you a link to the recipe.

Here's to cosy season and all its delights 🥰

The Way Through The Woods by Long Litt Woon.

A beautiful memoir about overcoming grief through nature, and in particular learning from the mysteriously fascinating world of mushrooms.

A lovely fungi-inspired read for this cosy time of year.
