![What happens when we stop talking about breast cancer as just a diagnosis and start talking about the lives behind it? 🎀
That was the intention behind The Pink Village, Materra’s very first community event, held in Dubai for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
But this was never meant to be just another awareness event.
It was about the mothers, the daughters, the survivors, the families, and the people whose lives are shaped by cancer in ways we don’t always see.
We brought together voices from women’s health, medical innovation, psychology, lived experiences, and motherhood to create something that went beyond conversations about prevention and treatment.
We wanted honesty. We wanted connection. We wanted a space where science could meet humanity, where vulnerability could exist without judgment, and where every person could leave with something meaningful.
And watching that intention come to life was something I will never forget. 💗
As the founder of Materra, I’ve always believed that motherhood was never meant to be carried alone. But neither were the experiences, challenges, and transitions that shape women’s lives.
The Pink Village was our first step towards building that kind of community.
To every speaker, panelist, partner, and guest who helped bring this vision to life, thank you for becoming part of our village.
This was our first village. Certainly not our last. 🌸
