Auditing your shelter’s animal‑level data isn’t just a technical task. It’s how you make sure the story you’re telling about your work is real, complete, and trustworthy. Regular check-ins help your team stay aligned on how information is entered, so the data you rely on is accurate and consistent. When every animal is clearly accounted for, no matter their path through your shelter, you get the clarity you need to spot gaps, strengthen lifesaving efforts, and make better decisions for the pets who depend on you. Check out the HASS Auditing Animal-Level Data Guide!

This year, HASS hit the road to take the stage at major national conferences and industry events across the country. Through dynamic presentations and interactive workshops, our team connected directly with shelter staff, leaders, and advocates working on the frontlines of animal welfare.

Our presentations went well beyond high-level strategy to deliver practical, actionable insights. Drawing directly from real-world lessons and field-tested strategies developed alongside our partner shelters, HASS speakers shared proven blueprints for boosting adoption rates alongside human-centered customer service strategies. Each session focused on equipping attendees with the everyday skills needed to transform lifesaving operations in their home communities. Looking ahead, these national conversations are laying the groundwork for lasting systemic change and advocating for greater funding across the entire animal welfare movement.

None of this reach or the platform to connect, educate, and inspire leaders across the nation happens alone. It is made possible by visionary partners like the #RachaelRayFoundation, whose generous support and commitment to investing in the voices, speakers, and ideas truly move animal welfare forward. by @thehasslife

As Ted Lasso would say, "Be Curious, Not Judgmental”, so in honor of the show's return, this is a perfect reminder of what modern leadership can look like in our field. Sustainable community support starts with an internal team that feels safe, valued, and connected. In this on‑demand HASS recording, you’ll learn how to build a workplace culture rooted in empathy, trust, and psychological safety. And just like AFC Richmond, when we invest in our team’s well‑being, our whole organization thrives, which creates the kind of environment where staff feel empowered, communities feel welcomed, and animals receive the highest level of care.
