There is great beauty in death that is ready

The presence it evokes in us

Emotion-full and alive

Our Humanity

Coming together

To honor Life

What once was and who we are now

~•~•~•~

Thank you all for your well wishes, words of comfort and love. He went on in peace in my arms. Many many tears and songs. Surrounded by sheep and a gentle breeze in the comfort of our home. Nicky was the best death doula we could’ve asked for. It was a beautiful moment in time. 🪽 by @theheartofsol

Basil Cashew Heart of Palm Veggie Lasagna 🌿🤍

SO YUMMM 😍 This idea was requested by a postpartum mama who is plant-based and gluten free but craving soul food. This is my new favorite recipe!

Cashew Cream + Spinach Basil Green Sauce + Heart of Palm Noodles + Roasted Veggies

1. Cashew Cream
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups raw cashews (soaked 4 hours or quick soak 20 min boil)
2–3 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp dried basil
½ tsp dried oregano
¼–½ cup water (blend until thick + spreadable)
Optional:
1 tbsp white miso (deep umami)
Fresh parsley
✨ Blend until creamy but slightly textured like ricotta.

2. Spinach Basil Green Sauce
This is the soul of the lasagna.
Ingredients:
1 cup soaked cashews
1 packed cup fresh basil
1 packed cup spinach
1–2 cloves garlic
1 ½ cups unsweetened plant milk
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
½ tsp salt
squeeze lemon
pinch nutmeg
Blend until silky smooth.
Taste: adjust salt + lemon.

✨ If you want it thicker: add 1 tbsp gluten free flour and simmer briefly.

3. Veggie Layer (Roasted = better flavor)
Chop + roast at 400°F for 20–25 min:
Zucchini slices
Yellow squash
Mushrooms
Thin sliced red onion
Bell peppers
Optional: chopped kale (massage first) or broccoli
Toss with:
Olive oil
Salt
Black pepper
Thyme
✨ Roasting prevents watery lasagna

4. Noodles
Use:
2 Packets of Palmini Hearts of Palm Lasagna Noodles
✨Rinse + drain + pat dry

🌿 Assembly (9x13 Dish)
1. Thin layer green sauce on bottom
2. Noodles
3. Nut ricotta (dollops + spread)
4. Roasted veggies
5. Green sauce
6. Repeat layers
Finish with:
Green sauce
Extra dollops ricotta
Sprinkle nutritional yeast
Fresh basil

🌿 Bake
Cover with foil
375°F for 35–40 minutes
Uncover last 10 minutes

Let sit 15 minutes before slicing (important for structure).

✨🌞🌿 ENJOY! 🌿🌞✨

10.07 Solar Returning
Super Full Moon 🌕
My word for this new year is

☀️🏺 Empowered ☀️🏺

The last year has been filled with deep surrender and decomposing ~ moving into new territory ~ jumping off comfort zone cliffs into the unknown ~ survival zoning ~ somehow these wings find there way ~ after dark nights and deep rest they continue to flutter ~ a willingness greater than me ~ guiding me to the light ~ my dreams glistening in the horizon ~ I can see them smell them and taste them ~ so close and so far ~ I trust , I trust ~

My prayer is to bee in this body & to find pleasure in this journey ~ with every ounce of my being
