I am tied together by every love I’ve ever felt.
Every friend I’ve held close.
Every enemy I’ve made.
By every work of art that moved me.
Every place that left its mark on me, and every person whose path crossed mine.
By the moments I wanted to last forever and the ones I thought I’d never get through.
By everyone who stayed.
Everyone who left, and every version of myself I’ve been along the way.
I carry pieces of it all.
Some connections have loosened.
Others still hold tight.
Even what I’ve let go of has shaped me.

Somewhere between Southern Louisiana and Southern California, I left behind everything I’ve ever known and started driving toward the life I’ve always dreamed about.
