The Henry Ford’s limited-time exhibition “Fabric of America: Our Fashions, Textiles, and Technologies” explores how fabric and textiles are inextricably woven into American history.From cotton gins to today’s fast fashion and from flour sack dresses to haute couture, this exhibition tells stories of five enduring American values: liberty, practicality, inventiveness, abundance and individualism. “Fabric of America” is now open at Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation through September 13. Just days remain to see “Freedom Plane National Tour: The Documents That Forged a Nation” at The Henry Ford. As the second-to-last stop on the national tour, this is one of the last chances to be a part of this historic opportunity.To allow as many guests as possible to see these incredibly important founding-era documents, July 22-26, we will be accepting walk-ups through 3:30 p.m. 📜 Walk-up guests should come to Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation’s Clocktower entrance and speak with a Guest Services representative at the ticketing counter about same-day openings. Please note that same-day spots may fill quickly. 📜 Guests with existing reservations should still plan to enter the line for the temporary exhibition at their ticketed time and are advised to use the museum's Clocktower entrance for priority access to the start of the line. 📜 Wait times are expected during the remaining days of the exhibition. “The Shakers” were an American religious group that formed utopian communities throughout the country in the early 1800s. Remembered for both their eccentricities and their craftsmanship, the Shakers made exquisite furniture, tools and more as they sought to create heaven on Earth through work.🪑 See examples of their work on display now in “Handmade: The Crafting of America” at Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. This is the last week you can see the toe-tapping documentary “America’s Musical Journey” at Giant Screen Experience. Follow singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc as he traces the roots of American music through the great musical cities, including New Orleans, Chicago, Nashville, Detroit, New York and more, where art forms like jazz, the blues, country, soul, and rock and roll were born.
