In the 17th century, a tavern (known as an 'ordinary') was required in every town. A meeting place to socialize and have a meal (and a drink!) for locals and travelers alike. We're so excited to be opening our very own @puritantavern in Groton later this summer, back to where it all began for Chef @wdgilson.

One of my favorite things to do is to add a little somethin-somethin to your day-of stationery.

With A&E, we used the backs of their place cards to print personal notes for each and every guest. While it was so fun and beautiful to make these place cards for their overall design, the real treat was to get the gallery back and see how guests were interacting with this special touch. People were beaming, tearing up, passing notes across the table. This is the perfect way to thank guests for joining your celebration and to let them know how much they mean to you without sacrificing design or making it feel forced.

The rain was dreamy hitting the greenhouse during the candlelit dinner and made this day even more magical! Such beautiful details from Tori and Jason! Finally sharing the dinner party of our dreams. Surrounded by 38 of our nearest and dearest, we tied the knot and ate until we couldn’t move.

Much of this day was born from @loversforlifeevents. Hand painted menus & placemats, caviar-inspired invites, custom matches, sweatshirts served on silver platters, a giant version of our menu doubling as our guestbook, and my favorite: our 3 page dinner menu hand-drawn by Carly, complete with annotations verbatim from Bill, an idea sparked by hearing him describe the vision. She turned it into our favorite restaurant for the night, every detail intentional and perfect.

The best florist @ephemirus showed us why she’s one of the most creative, cool, and down to earth people on the planet. Endless hanging florals and greenery, fresh fruit, tomato vines, and bread tied into the tablescape, plus a surprise hand-cut rose installation.

Of course, none of it could’ve been possible without @wdgilson and the @theherblyceum crew. They executed to perfection, reminding us why hospitality is a true art.

Moreover, hosting is our love language, and they let us be us. In the months leading up the wedding, they allowed Bill to put back on his figurative chef whites and get involved. Everything Bill does is full throttle - there’s a reason we lovingly call him Unchill Bill. Our wedding feast was no different. From getting up at 4am to drive to work on our wedding day just to secure the freshest meat & seafood, to prepping sour cherry jus for 40 people in our kitchen on the days leading up to the celebration, and a million things inbetween. Bill cared about every detail and made it all happen.

@rosiemake_up made me look and feel perfect, @theviolinkat played everything from Led Zeppelin to the Sound of Music, and @unaweddings made sure it all went flawlessly.

A magical moment in time surrounded by food, love, our favorite people, and the most handsome guest, Norman. As Carly so perfectly designed on our invites:
