Art Nouveau 🥀💃🖼️ First of all, whew did I miss creating and posting this series and whew did this take me MONTHS (not kidding) because my perfectionist spirit wanted this to be PERFECT. Art Nouveau is such a broad aesthetic and movement that extends to not only art and posters but to furniture, buildings, glass, litcherally everything!! It was popular during La Belle Époque and it’s very well known for the flowy, floraly asymmetrical patterns, very often used in stained glass and ceramics. Through research I found that this aesthetic has WOMEN ON THE COVER and y’all know I love me a woman front and center!! The artists I focused on were Alphonse Mucha and Louis C Tiffany whose many works (from him and his company, YES THAT TIFFANY) I got the privilege to see in the flesh at the Met Museum! Stained Glass work, vases and gorgeous jewelry!! Would you like me to post some on stories?👀 Alphonse Mucha did a lot of these beautiful posters of women but I had to pick the seasons (spring top left corner, summer top right corner, fall bottom left corner and winter bottom right corner). I am very happy with how this came out and I am so glad to be back with this series (my personal fave). Quick shoutouts to @ashleyg.explores who did a fantastic vid on Art Nouveau!! NYE is my favorite holiday and it is the one day of the year I challenge myself to do my best, most “complicated” look to end the year and start the new one with a bang.
