I knocked out three new blocks this week to make this vision come to life.
.
There's been, what I believe, are a pair of Red Tailed Hawks hanging around my neighborhood this summer. These beautiful hunters stop me in my tracks whenever I see them circling the skies.
.
I'll have a selection of paper prints, Ts, and crop tops with me at the @9thand9thstreetfest tomorrow (Saturday 9/19) from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

.
I hope I get to see you there!

A few of you have been requesting some paper prints of the antifa falcon, so here she is 🪶
.
Tomorrow will be the last day that I'll be vending at the @slcfarmersmarket for this season. Next weekend you can find me at the @9th9thfest
.
The weather is looking lovely, can't wait to see you all!

A fresh batch of sweatshirts, new things added to the discount bin, and the weather is just lovely right now. Come say hi at the Downtown Salt Lake Farmers Market at Pioneer Park. I'll be here today until 2!
.
Next week I'm planning on bringing my press to the market again. It will likely be my last week of the season. A few different markets and some workshops will be pulling me away from the @slcfarmersmarket so if you've been hoping to catch me here, get to it!
.
I would really love to take a lot less home with me today, so if you see this post and mention it to me at my booth I'll throw ya an extra 10% off. Yay!
.
Thank you all for your support this season. I know for most small businesses and makers it's a weird time and a lot of us are struggling. Every purchase, kind word, engagement on this platform, and referral to friends means the world to us. So if it is within your means and heart to support local this Labor Day weekend, please know it is so so appreciated.

Near my home in Rose Park is the Jordan River Trail. My partner and I walk our dogs along the river every day. There's a bridge over a part of the river where swallows are nesting, and if we walk past there in the evenings they are out swooping and diving in fantastic arcs, beautiful shapes against the sunsetting sky.
.
This little piece is about them. I printed a small edition on a delicate handmade paper, full of uneven inclusions and a few surprises, much like life. I'll have a few with me at the Downtown Farmers Market this Saturday.

Crunch crunch crunch
.
This piece will become a limited edition set of block prints, featuring a large peony bloom and three little ladybug friends.
.
Carving can be slow, but also meditative. It's one of my favorite parts of the printmaking process.
.
I've been struggling with feeling a lack of motivation lately, and I think a big thing that has been missing is that I haven't taken the time to carve something new for a while.
.
What do you do to help yourself out of a creative rut?

Fuck AI. I made these with my hands, heart, and mind.
.
The endless destruction of the beautiful things on this planet has been hard to cope with, keep track of, and feel like I have any ability to fight. Some of the most beautiful, and sacred, spaces of my home state have lost their federal protected status. These remnant collages are in homage to some of these desert landscapes.
.
It's going to be hot out tomorrow, so I'm thinking instead of hauling my press to the park for the Downtown Salt Lake Farmers Market, I'll have a little sale of some already printed goodies. 10% of all sales tomorrow will be donated to @bearsearscoalition
.
Thanks for following along. And keep fighting to keep public lands in public hands.

What an honor it is
To touch the ocean
To know her scent and taste
To see the way there is never waste
All life is connected
And recycled
And gives far more than she takes
What an honor it is to be here
To see her wonders
Experience these depths and colors
The abundance of life
To witness the sound
Of that space between sky and ground
This everlasting movement
A blessing here
A surprise there
And always joy to be found
With recognition of power
That many find more than beauty
That fear can follow the expanse
That human emotion is a constant dance
One I find worth taking

Many thanks to @quarryarts & @tekowhaiprint for hosting @printdayinmay @printopia_festival & @hexpressmaui in such a magical place for a workshop of monotype and playful lincut printing.
.
I feel so fortunate to have met the participating artists, and most of all, to be given a tour and talk with Hamish about the work he is doing in this nonprofit printshop in Whangārei, Aotearoa/New Zealand. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
