•𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖• (Spoilers ahead!)

Naomi Westfield is living her best life with her fiancé Nicholas Rose. From the outside, they look like the perfect couple. Staring at each other lovingly from across the room, sparks flying whenever they’re in each other’s vicinity, being the talk of the town with their unmatched romance. Until one day, they decide to become petty and start the most childish adult feud in the history of relationships. They both try to force the other to be the one to call off the wedding instead of, I don’t know, talking? Their bickering was sometimes humorous and witty (if we manage to ignore the toxicity of their words) and I found Naomi’s inner monologues funny, but their relationship is the closest thing I can see Titanic sink in real life.

Throughout the novel, it seems like Nicholas is the only one trying to salvage their relationship or what’s left of it (buying their cabin house, telling Naomi she doesn’t have to work and Naomi OF COURSE jumping to conclusions and misunderstanding that as him being disdainful and dismissive of her efforts, “She’s worth the pain of trying. Worth the pain of failing.”) and Naomi is the one instantly shutting him down with snarky and downright rude remarks, always believing Nicholas’ intentions and judgment to be malicious while she is the insecure one who constantly chips off his words and tries to find faults in them. As this goes on, Nicholas also builds up his armor and joins the battlefield with his equally childish antics and rude comments.

I feel like this whole fiancés-to-enemies-to-lovers dynamic could’ve easily been prevented in the beginning with one successful couples counseling session. or with Naomi actually listening to Nicholas for ONCE. Whenever my man tries to act somewhat nice and extends the olive branch to her, she immediately snaps that branch and runs over it with her truck to make sure it’s irrevocably dead. The title is “You Deserve Each Other” but I don’t think Naomi deserves Nicholas🤷🏼‍♀️ Sure, Nicholas is also to blame for the state of their relationship, but at least we could see signs of effort on his part.

Bucket list item: throw a Pride & Prejudice themed afternoon tea party✅

It felt magical to watch the movie again with my friends in this regency atmosphere✨🌸 To make the party more interactive and fun, I also prepared bingo cards with all the iconic lines and scenes from the movie and it led to an unforgettable experience filled with laughter and fun commentary!

✨ BOOK REVIEW ✨

This was SO good. Such a comfort read, I loved it from the very beginning to the end. The story is all-around a walking green flag from start to finish. It felt like a big hug or a fluffy blanket wrapping me up in its delightful warmth and shielding me away from the real world in the best way possible, I never wanted to slip out of it.

It was the perfect blend of humor and serious elements like grief and guilt. Lenny and Lou’s relationship and how deep their love goes were narrated through a mix of funny and gut-wrenching flashbacks and I left a part of my heart in each scene. As a reader, you understand how hard it must be for Lenny to go through the most devastating loss of her life through these scenes. And if you ever went through a loss in your life that made you feel like your heart was ripped apart with each breath you took like Lenny, you connect with her struggles on a different level and find pieces of yourself in her inner world.

MILES HONEY THE MAN YOU ARE. He has all my heart. His considerate attention for small details <3 We love an observant man. His genuine love and care for Lenny without expecting anything in return is just… (eating my fist rn)

I also loveed Lenny. She is such a relatable, unique, witty and layered character. Her characterization is so natural and her development throughout the novel was very realistic and so beautifully executed. Her way of daydreaming and creating detailed fantasy scenarios with random strangers and emotionally disassociating from the real world in those moments are relatable escapism methods; those moments serve as a way to show the reader Lenny’s disconnection from the people and distancing herself from the underlying pain and grief constantly present in her soul. She distracts herself from the paralyzing grief with fake romance scenarios while simultaneously hinting at her subconscious desire for emotional connection but not knowing how. And that’s where Miles Honey comes into play (I will never shut up about this man). Continued below⬇️ by @thehiddenarrative

I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to take a leap of faith, always telling myself that I must ensure I have the best conditions and rise to a certain level in my own standards before taking any action. As a recovering perfectionist, I want this account to be a testament to what I know now: you can’t expect a flower to bloom if you never plant the seeds. So here is the first seed that I am growing. I don’t know where this will go or whether the seed will blossom into a flower. Still, I’m here for the journey, embracing the ambiguity, and that’s all that matters in the end🍁
