The Charlotte Hornets front office has completely lost the trust of its fanbase… and I’m still in disbelief.

This move says a lot about the direction of the franchise, and it’s hard to see how fans are supposed to buy in after this.

With the first round of the draft complete, here are my draft grades for the #CharlotteHornets 🐝

No. 14 – Hannes Steinbach (Washington)
Steinbach was the best center available at No. 14 and a pick that makes a lot of sense for Charlotte. When you’re addressing a clear need, this is the type of selection you don’t overthink. He’s arguably the best rebounder in the draft and should make an immediate impact on the glass. While he’s not the elite rim protector some other bigs offer, his motor, physicality, and rebounding make this a strong value pick.

No. 18 – Christian Anderson (Texas Tech)
Anderson is statistically one of the best 3pt shooters in this draft class and gives Charlotte another scoring threat. My biggest concern is his size at 6’1”, which could create challenges defensively at the next level. He’s a good player who adds offensive depth, but I believe there were a few prospects still on the board at No. 18 who may have offered a higher overall upside.

Overall Grade: B #nbadraft by @thehivemindpod

Liam McNeeley & Hannes

The Hornets just added Dorian Finney-Smith, took on a salary dump, and picked up 3 more second-round picks.

That gives Charlotte 7 second-round picks since trading Miles Bridges and LaMelo.

What are we doing with all these second-rounders? 🤔
