Well, I have been back home for a week and I am still so renewed and tickled by this Very Special Visit to NYC. I went with my Hedwig Fan Fam to see John Cameron Mitchell in the stomachachingly funny play, Oh, Mary.
But beyond that we wandered neighborhoods, saw former portlanders and former new yorkers who are now portlanders, and ate ALL the food. I had so much fun with these weirdos.
If you ever need recommendations for activities or restaurants, just ask!

Happy EIGHTEENTH Birthday to my main man. He may not hear as well, his breath might be alarming, and he might be covered in barnacles, but the little love is healthy and fit and spry as all get out. He continues to leap *over* the steps I have for him to get on and off the furniture.
We're gonna go register him to vote and pick up some lottery tickets!

Today is a truly sad (and strangely personal) one. Try to think of the one person, outside your actual family and friends, who has made you laugh and giggle and cackle and squeal more than any other human. Paul Rubens was *my* person. I truly loved him and his kooky brain. My life has been made endlessly more hilarious and joyful thanks to his rare and specific gift.

Birthday dump!
Trees of mystery with huge celebs, Tara *loves* a squashed penny, AND brought a tiny fire pit from home. Airbnb had the best weird plants, a bit of perspective, a view through the sunroof inside a drive-thru tree, homemade chile rellenos, California Beach Evening Selfie, saying goodbye to the airbnb wallpaper.

It was truly the best best best birthday, and I'm so grateful to have had this getaway. 🩷🌲 taken in Humboldt County by @thehobobarbie
