Today my photo series, THE SKIN I’M IN: Breaking Beauty Barriers was exhibited at the Photoville Festival in Brooklyn Bridge Park today. The photo series celebrates individuals living with visible skin and body conditions. Thank you….Thank you ….Thank you! To everyone who helped me take a photo idea I had about self-confidence and body positivity and transform it into a photo series set to inspire many! The opening of the Photoville festival ends tomorrow May 17th, but all of the photo exhibits including mine will be available for public view until May 30th during Park hours. You can find my exhibit at Old Dock Street on the side of Time out Market in Brooklyn Bridge Park. My exhibit is one of many other talented photographers from around the world! I am proud to announce that my photo project “THE SKIN I’M IN: Breaking Beauty Barriers!” will be featured at this year’s Photoville Festival at Brooklyn Bridge Park! ✨✨✨I am truly honored to be able to share this series of work with so many more people, as well as honored to work with every single person who modeled for this photo series. Thank you! ❤️🙏🏾. About the photo project: This is an on-going photo series inspired by my own personal journey with severe and chronic eczema since I was a toddler. Specializing in Social Impact Portraiture, I decided to create a photo series celebrating other people in this connected world living with their own skin and body conditions. Conditions such as eczema, vitiligo, burns, scars,keloids, albinism, limb difference, rare skin conditions and many others. The goal of this project is not only to highlight conditions and how they affect the lives of others, but to also celebrate the individuals living in their skin and bodies beyond societal beauty standards❤️. I hope this project inspires others to come out of their shadows, live life and love themselves for who they are! Today is a truly special day for me. This birthday carries a deeper meaning than any before. Not only am I celebrating another year of life, but I’m also celebrating becoming a college graduate—earning my associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies. That alone fills my heart with so much pride and gratitude.On top of that, I’ve been blessed with the incredible opportunity to be part of “The Skin I’m In” exhibit alongside other talented artists, and to know it will be showcased at Brooklyn Bridge Park is something I don’t take lightly. It’s a moment that reminds me how far I’ve come and how much purpose is still unfolding in my life.This milestone birthday—my 48th—is especially meaningful. I’ve walked through storms, faced challenges that tried to break me, and yet… by God’s grace, I’m still here. Still standing. Still growing. Still grateful.I thank God for covering me throughout this time, for keeping me, and for carrying me through every season. I just found this spot called Tiny Theater ( @tinytheater__ ). It is a private studio in the Bronx (15 Canal Street) where you can rent an intimate private movie screening room for 2✨. It’s really cool! Sleep who is the owner is cool as well! No I am not getting paid for this, and I haven’t used it yet. I literally just saw it and thought I’d share ❤️, because I love to support the progression of others. I think it would be great for private screenings, marriage proposals, birthdays, Mother’s/Father’s day, quality time with your son/daughter or even just getting away from this crazy world for a moment by yourself. ✨✨✨Check out the video and see for yourself, then check out their IG if you are interested.
