People have been asking me the same question for years...“Why Hood Snake?”The answer goes back long before I ever picked up a camera.As a kid, saturday mornings meant cartoons. While most people rooted for G.I. Joe, I was drawn to the Cobra’s. They weren’t the heroes, but they had something the heroes didn’t. The look, the symbol, the attitude. They always stood out to me.Photography had always been there too, even if I didn’t realize it yet. My grandfather always had a camera with him, documenting our family one moment at a time. Years later, when I got into graffiti, I carried a small point-and-shoot everywhere. Not just to capture my own work, but the people, the walls, and the culture around me.Music has always been another obsession. Then life hit pause.After breaking my knee on Friday the 13th, I was stuck at home for months. I started teaching myself how to make beats in Fruity Loops, and like every producer, I needed a name. I knew I wanted something connected to Cobra, but calling myself “Cobra” felt too obvious.So I started digging.That’s when I came across the term Hood Snake. A name commonly used for a cobra because of the hood it spreads when it feels threatened. It doesn’t make the snake stronger. It makes a statement. It says, I’m here.The name stuck.Not long after, I bought my first DSLR to shoot music videos for my music. But somewhere along the way, something unexpected happened. I realized I was falling in love with photography. The camera wasn’t introducing me to a new passion, it was bringing me back to something that had quietly been part of me all along.Almost twenty years later, the music has taken a back seat, but the name never left.Hood Snake was never about trying to sound hard.It became a part of who I am.A reminder of where I came from, what shaped me, and how a kid who grew up fascinated by the Cobra’s eventually found his true passion behind the camera.So the next time someone asks where the name comes from...Now you know.🐍 by @thehoodsnake

The legendary Meimarkt is more than just a market, it’s a tradition woven into the identity of Tilburg.Once a year, people from every corner of the city and every cultural background come together for what becomes one giant treasure hunt. Hundreds of vendors rent stalls and clear out their attics, basements, garages, and entire homes, selling everything they no longer need.The Meimarkt starts on Saturday evening and continues non-stop until late Sunday afternoon. Even throughout the night, the market never sleeps. After dark, the atmosphere transforms into one big celebration, with visitors challenging each other to find the strangest, weirdest, and most unexpected items hidden among the endless stalls.By Sunday afternoon, another unique tradition unfolds. Anything left unsold is taken to collection points, where crowds gather in a frenzy, searching through piles of discarded treasures in hopes of finding something valuable for free.It’s a phenomenon that returns year after year.With sunny weather and packed streets, I spent the final day walking through the market and documenting the scenes as they unfolded.#meimarkt #tilburg #fleamarket by @thehoodsnake

I usually cross the border into Belgium just to fill up my tank. Nothing special, just cheaper than back home. Especially these days, it adds up.Most of the time, my camera’s with me. Sitting on the passenger seat, ready… but rarely used. It’s more of a “just in case” habit than anything else. This time was different. Instead of heading back, I kept driving. Avoided the highways and followed whatever road felt right. No plan, no destination, just curiosity doing its thing. Two hours later, I found myself near Liège. So I parked the car and started walking. I always feel the urge to capture things. But this wasn’t a crowded city story. No rush, no chaos. Just wandering through streets, random corners, and whatever decided to show up in front of me.That’s the thing about Belgium… you never really know what you’ll find. Doors that are suddenly open, places that feel abandoned but aren’t completely closed off. It’s those unexpected moments that make it worth. After about five hours of walking, I made my way back to the car and drove home.This series is a reflection of that entire day. A few years ago, I was shooting way more film than I do now. Not because I fell out of love with it, but let’s be real, it got expensive. And at the end of the day, photography isn’t about the gear anyway… it’s about the story you tell. The problem is, my city doesn’t really have a proper lab. So getting film developed turns into a whole trip. And because of that, rolls just… pile up. Forgotten moments, waiting somewhere in a drawer. So after a couple of years, I made a promise to myself: just start developing them. No more excuses. The funny thing is, I often have no idea what I actually shot anymore. And that’s exactly where the magic of film lives for me. It’s slow, unpredictable, and every roll feels like opening a time capsule. Lately, I’ve been going through that stack little by little. And every time, it’s a surprise.This batch brought me back to a sunny day in Belgium. Finally seeing those frames again, after all this time, feels different. Most of these shots were taken wider than I usually go.
