![If you want more people to book your hostel when they find you on Instagram, read this.
In the last few weeks, I’ve given a feedback on hostels from different countries
I’ve had a look at their bio, their highlights, their pinned posts, their content
And these are the things that came back all the time
1) Having a generic bio
“A home away from home” was maybe good 12 years ago but now you need to be clear on what type of hostel you are.
Don’t be afraid to use key words “social hostel for solo travelers”, “party hostel in [...] with daily pool parties”
2) Too many highlights, with too many stories in it
You can be sure the only person who will have a look at ALL your highlights is only me if I give you a feedback on your IG profile 🤣
Your potential guests will never go through all of it
Keep the essencial, show who you are, who your guests are, what’s the vibe like and eventually a Q&A.
If it doesn’t help your guests see what a typical stay look like, you have a chance they’ll check another hostel and forget about you
3) Pinned posts that don’t show your strenghts
The pinned posts are the first posts your potential guests will see on your profile.
If you pinned random posts that are not revelant to the best you have to offer, you’re missing an opportunity for guests to know what it’s like to stay in your hostel and to stand out from competitors.
Avoid doing those mistakes if you want bookings coming from Instagram
