I definitely bought a few things just because they looked cute… 🙈

If I was starting all over again, these are the swaps I’d make every single time.

🤍 Push walker instead of a seated walker
I always thought walkers helped babies learn to walk, but I later found out that push walkers encourage babies to practise their own balance and move more naturally, rather than being supported in a seat.

🍽️ Silicone suction plate instead of a character plate
The colourful plates are adorable, but I found they became more of a distraction. A suction plate stays put, encourages self-feeding and means a lot less food ends up on the floor.

✨ High-chair food catcher instead of a splat mat
This has honestly saved me so much time. It catches most of the dropped food in one place instead of me cleaning the entire kitchen after every meal.

🥨 Spill-proof snack cup instead of a regular bowl
One of those things I didn’t know I needed until I had it! It lets toddlers snack more independently without scattering snacks everywhere.

👕 Long-sleeve weaning bib instead of a standard bib
This one has saved so many outfit changes. It covers the sleeves as well, so I spend far less time changing clothes and doing extra laundry.

Every baby is different, and every family finds what works for them, but these are the swaps that genuinely made our everyday life easier.

Anyone can be a father, but becoming a dad is something truly special ♥️

It’s in the bedtime cuddles, the silly dances, the endless games, the little backpacks carried on tiny adventures, and the arms that somehow never get tired of holding their child.

A dad is the one who makes childhood feel safe, magical, and full of laughter.
