Customers sometime ask me why my product prices are so high?

I understand if some people don’t appreciate art as much or are just not that into it. It’s only fair for them to not invest in handmade products. But it’s unreasonable to question it’s worth and ask an artist why their products are so expensive!

I’ve been painting professionally since the last 8 years now. I invest in the best products and paints for optimal results. The most important thing to note here is that running your own business and creating hand-painted merchandise is expensive and time consuming.

Support the local artists and business owners you know. They are putting in a lot of effort into creating exclusive things for you. Acknowledge their effort and try to encourage them. I know it would mean the world to to them because it does to me ❤️

The reason a lot of projects never get finished isn’t lack of skill, it’s that “done” was never defined. Without a clear finish line, “finish this piece” stays vague forever, so your brain keeps adding, tweaking, and delaying instead of stopping.

Adding a definition for done helps. A vague goal has no endpoint, so there’s always “one more thing” to fix, which means you never actually finish. A specific definition of done gives your brain something concrete to aim for, so effort has a clear stopping point instead of dragging on indefinitely. It shifts your focus from “make it perfect” to “hit the checklist”, which is a much easier bar to clear.

The barrier isn’t the task itself, it’s starting it. You resist big, vague commitments for example- finishing a painting, working out for an hour, but it rarely resists something tiny. So you shrink the commitment down to something almost impossible to say no to: just 2 minutes.

Why it works- Starting is the hardest part, momentum is way easier to keep than to create. Once you’re 2 minutes in, stopping actually feels harder than continuing.

How the challenge works (7 days):
1. Pick one task you keep avoiding (painting, workout, writing, cleaning, anything).
2. Every day, commit to only 2 minutes. Set a timer if it helps.
3. When the timer goes off, you’re allowed to stop, no guilt, no “you should keep going.”
4. Do this for 7 consecutive days, no skipping.

By day 7, you won’t need motivation to start, you’ll just start.

Chasing color through the cobblestone streets of Valldemossa, Mallorca!

There is something purely magical about how Spain inspires artists. Tucked away in this historic mountain village, we stumbled upon this hidden gem of an art boutique. Watching these vibrant, sun-drenched canvases and bold floral paintings contrast against the rustic, sun-baked stone walls was amazing.
