We asked who we should know about, and you answered.

There’s something extra special about spending a day supporting multiple local businesses.

We recently went to a wellness + Padel event hosted by @gratefulheartyogawellness , a woman-owned wellness business based in Westlake, and had SUCH a good time.

Grateful Heart has a whole calendar of wellness experiences—from breathwork and meditation to yoga, core work, sound baths, and more. Basically, if your nervous system is begging you to slow down for a minute, check them out. 😂

The event also introduced me to other local businesses, including @ourdailypressco (the vitality shots were 👌), before we played padel at @padelsquare.us . A local business which is new to NE OH- Ohio’s first padel club!

Turns out I need a LOT more Padel practice … I’ll definitely be back.

they become little communities of their own. And that’s something really special. 🤍📚

I was so honored to meet Filly at the launch event for Fully Booked Mobile, a beautiful bookstore on wheels! 🚐📖

That’s the magic of a business that brings people together. It gives you a reason to show up, and you leave with connections and memories that have nothing to do with what you bought.

The event was hosted at @birdiesnestcleveland and I even won a T-shirt that says “Hot Girls Like to Read.” 😎

Congratulations again to @fullybookedmobile ! You’ve created something so special, and I have a feeling I’ll be seeing a LOT more of you in the future.

A wife and mother of four boys, Amanda started small, creating paper and fabric banners, wood and vinyl signage, and custom pieces for celebrations and businesses. Since then, River Rd. has expanded into corporate events, indoor murals and window painting, becoming much more than the side venture she originally imagined.

Perhaps the biggest surprise has been what the business has given her beyond income.

“Being a mom and working can be hard,” Amanda says. “But I want other moms to know you can do what you love and still be a present, loving mom.”

Rather than seeing motherhood and entrepreneurship as competing identities, she sees them as parts of the same evolving life. “I didn’t have children to squeeze them into the life I already had,” she says. “I had them to help my life expand and grow into something new and beautiful.”

River Rd. has expanded her community, too. Through the business, Amanda has formed meaningful friendships with other women and entrepreneurs, many first met through Instagram, who have become a source of encouragement, support and inspiration.

For fellow business owners, her story offers a reminder that success isn’t measured by revenue alone. Sometimes the greatest return on building a business is the creativity it unlocks, the community it creates and the life it allows you to build along the way 💜🫟 taken in Medina, Ohio by @theindexcle

The way you talk about your business matters.

Business owners often soften their language without even realizing it.

“Sorry…”
“Just checking in…”
“I could be wrong…”
“Would it be okay if I charged…?”

Small words. Big difference.

Owning your business language doesn’t mean being cold, aggressive, or inauthentic. It means communicating your expertise, boundaries, rates, and recommendations clearly and confidently 💜

You don’t have to apologize for following up.

You don’t have to minimize your expertise.

And you definitely don’t have to ask permission to charge for the value you provide.

🗞️ FOUNDER FILES SPOTLIGHT | ELISHA, FULLY BOOKED

Elisha started Fully Booked while finding her way back to herself after becoming a mom. What began as a love of reading and a desire to get her “pink back” soon became something bigger: a place for others to feel welcomed, seen, and connected.

Today, Fully Booked is a mobile bookstore traveling throughout Northeast Ohio in a trailer named Filly, bringing books, community, and a little whimsy wherever it goes. 📚💗
