Been a while since I’ve introduced myself, and there’s quite a few new faces here! So here’s a little reintroduction + 10 random facts about me 🫶🏼⬇️

1. My name is Claire and I’m a 29 year old balloon decorator/event planner from Toronto, ON.
2. I’m in school full-time for Business Marketing.
3. I’m definitely a mic girlie lol. Hosting events and public speaking are two things I genuinely enjoy.
4. I’m a full-time mama to a toddler boy, whom I named after two biblical prophets, Jeremiah & Isaiah!
5. Gratitude is something I value HEAVILY. Life can change in an instant, so I try to never take the little things (or people) for granted.
6. I prefer cats over dogs, sorry to my dog lovers
7. Health is wealth! I’m big on eating clean, drinking plenty of water, and being mindful of what I put into my body.
8. I’m a firm believer that there’s always room for self-improvement!
9. I love creating/editing reels and optimizing social media pages so much that I recently turned it into another business, @thesocialedit.byc 😂
10. Last but certainly not least, I’m a follower of Christ! I’m far from perfect, but my walk with God has played such a significant role in who I am today. He is at the centre of everything I do and the reason I strive to become better every single day. Forever grateful for His grace, His guidance, and the growth that has come from building a relationship with Him. 🤍✝️ taken in Toronto, Ontario by @theinnovativeplanner_

Normalize collaborating over competing 🤞🏼
Lutoya (@la.partyhouse ) and I met about 3 years ago, and it’s been genuine support on both ends ever since! Despite both being in the balloon industry, we’ve never looked at each other as competition. It’s always just been genuine support, and there’s nothing better than being around girls who don’t see your success as a threat. 🤍

Outdoor balloon setups can be a little stressful and unpredictable, so here are a few tips I highly recommend keeping in mind ⬇️

1. Avoid dark colours when possible, ESPECIALLY BLACK.
Dark balloons absorb more heat from the sun, so lighter colours are usually a safer option outdoors.

2. Use high-quality balloons (@sempertex is my favourite).
Outdoor conditions are already tougher on balloons, so quality really does make a difference.

3. Secure your setup with weights.
Always make sure your arch or backdrop is properly weighted and secured from the back, especially in case of wind.

4. Plan your power source in advance.
Bring an extension cord with you, or confirm with your client beforehand that there will be an outlet and extension cord available. You definitely don’t want to arrive and realize you can’t plug in your electric balloon pump 😭

5. Set up in a shaded area and avoid direct sunlight.
Whenever possible, position your setup in a shaded area to help your balloons last longer and stay looking better.

6. Balloon shine is optional, but I definitely recommend it! ✨
Balloons can oxidize outdoors pretty quickly and start looking dull or matte. A high-shine balloon spray helps bring that glossy, fresh look back.

Outdoor setups will always come with factors we can’t completely control, but being prepared makes SUCH a big difference!
