A reminder of my goals as an actor.

I’ve already had quite a few unique challenges. I was too timid to pursue it as a kid. I couldn’t even initiate a conversation most of the time and that’s still a struggle. I was too burned out in high school due to the constant misunderstanding, pressure, moving school due to lack of accommodation and isolation I had experienced. When I finally went for it, I was rejected because of failing grades caused by that burnout. In another instance I was accepted and just didn’t fit into the standards of the environment well. People don’t always know what to do due to my combination of that creativity and having some really strong needs. Doctors didn’t know, quite a few times even other creatives don’t. It can be isolating. But I love being creative. It’s been my lifeline my whole life. I really hope that I can help someone else realize they still deserve to be here. It’s wild that it took a breaking point for my supposed dichotomies that were clear to be acknowledged. But I’m still whole at the end of the day, and that realization has motivated me further. Someone else probably needs to hear that too.

Here are some clips of my performance as Allison from The Breakfast Club for acting class. This is currently the only footage of me online.

If you know me, you know I love 80s films and music so it was awesome to recreate one of the best films of that decade. While I was in this class, I rediscovered my passion for acting and pushed through some tough depression and burnout from having to drop out of my dream major.

Shoutout to my professor @alanbomarjones and my committed classmates / scene partners.

I loved embracing my weird side through this character. She was very easy to slip into. by @theinquiringactor
