Interview with Travisty the Lazy Emcee (@travistythelazyemcee) on Chain Reaction

Q: Chain Reaction is a collaborative project with Len-Dor and DJ Kawon. How did the three of you come together?

Travisty the Lazy Emcee: I linked up with Kawon through the homie 8ch2Owens and we started working on some records. Len heard some of the music and reached out to collaborate. It started as just making a few songs, but the chemistry was there and it naturally grew into a full album.

Q: Now that Chain Reaction has been out, what are some of your favorite tracks and what makes this project special?

Travisty the Lazy Emcee: I really love the sound of the whole album, but some favorites are “Like That,” “Take A Charge,” and “Ok Ok.” The project has a White Men Can’t Jump theme, which is a classic movie to me. Kawon brought some incredible production, and Len and I brought our own contrasting styles that worked together. It’s a cohesive project and one people definitely need to check out.

Q: This is your second collaboration with DJ Kawon on production. What makes that partnership work?

Travisty the Lazy Emcee: Kawon is good people and a true Hip Hop head. We both love that golden era sound and approach music from a similar place. We also share a love for physical releases and creating something people can hold onto forever. Timeless music.

Q: What’s next for Travisty the Lazy Emcee?

Travisty the Lazy Emcee: I have a lot coming. Next up is The Underground Tapes: The 1914 Vault, a collection of joints I recorded in 2019 with a bunch of dope Florida emcees. After that, I’m working on a Mad Good Records team project featuring artists and producers from the label. There’s some really exciting music on the way.
