POSTS STORIES REELS

The humbling, once-in-a-lifetime journey of #OperationSafedSagar. ✨

When I walked into the writer’s room back in 2022, I knew this wasn't just another project. Writing about our real-life heroes, their families, and their courageous sacrifices required deep responsibility, commitment, and pure intent.

With every passing day, my gratitude only grew—for our men in uniform, my brilliant co-writers, the creators, producers, and the entire crew. This series gave me experiences I could only dream of. Meeting veterans, hearing their stories firsthand, and learning about their lives was mesmerizing, energising, and deeply humbling.

That energy was infectious. Just like the pilots of the Golden Arrows, our entire team stood united to achieve an ambitious vision. And today, seeing the overwhelming love and response over the last two months has left me filled with gratitude.

On the special occasion of the 94th Indian Air Force Day and marking two months of our series release, I wanted to share a few life lessons this journey taught me:

🔹 Hard work paired with the right intent always pays off.
🔹 Never take an opportunity for granted.
🔹 United you stand, divided you fall.
🔹 Every small contribution adds up to a greater good. Never doubt yourself.
🔹 There is no 'I' in team.
🔹 Good news and bad news can arrive together. Stay true to the moment.
🔹 Be fiercely grateful towards life.

Happy Air Force Day to the guardians of our skies!

To my alma mater, Shri Ram College of Commerce @srccofficialinsta

As SRCC celebrates its incredible centenary year, I find myself looking back at where it all began. I entered those gates studying Economics, but left with the courage to pursue my passion.

When I wrote Operation Safed Sagar, I drew directly from the resilience and confidence my professors instilled in me. I am filled with immense gratitude for the faculty who taught me to dare, to dream.

Thank you for your patience, your belief in me, and your lifelong impact.

Happy Teacher’s Day to SRCC’s remarkable faculty! Forever proud to be your student.

Huge thanks to Medha Dahiya @medhashri and Aditya Sagar @theadityasagar at Hindustan Times @hindustantimes for beautifully highlighting this chapter of my life.

From growing up in Guwahati during the turbulent years of Assam’s insurgency to making it to a Netflix writers’ room, Barun Kashyap’s journey is one of resilience and conviction.

Introduced to cinema, theatre and art by his father, Barun grew up choosing stories over the violence outside. He trained in violin, performed in Assamese theatre and television, studied Economics at SRCC, Delhi, and eventually found his way into screenwriting.

His journey to Mumbai wasn’t easy. A series he spent three years developing around the Assam insurgency was shelved amid the CAA protests.

But an unproduced, politically charged short-film script changed everything. The writing caught the attention of industry executives and earned him a place in the writers’ room of Netflix’s new series, Operation Safed Sagar.

He even turned down stable, high-paying assignments to bet on the project and the kind of stories he wanted to tell.

From Assam to Netflix, Barun Kashyap’s story is a reminder that sometimes the script nobody wants to produce can become the one that changes your career.

Introductory words to the national art exhibition.
My art is my voice and this voice was nurtured by my father. It was my late father who taught me the importance of freedom of speech, dissent and use of art to communicate ideas while growing up in a war torn state amidst bomb blasts, curfews and blackouts.
A small tribute to the man who taught me the power of colours, storytelling and love.
Gratitude towards Kalanirvana for the opportunity to showcase my work.
