About 3 years ago, I wrote a chorus.

I loved it, and I knew there was more to the song, so I started trying to write the rest. But no matter how much I worked on it, nothing seemed to fit.

In the middle of that process, I heard God clearly tell me to put it down.

So I did.

Instead of trying to force the song into something I thought it should be, I left it alone and focused on what I felt like God was actually asking of me in that season.

The song sat unfinished for about three years.

Then a few months ago, I had this feeling that it was time to pick it back up. There was a sense of release to finish what I had started.

And when I did, it came together easier than any song I’ve ever worked on. It felt like everything that I had tried to force into place suddenly just made sense.

That process has taught me a lot about God’s timing. It’s so easy to take something good and try to make it happen in our own timing simply because we can see the potential in it. But sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is put it down and trust that God knows when it’s time to pick it back up.

This past Sunday, I had the opportunity to lead that song with our entire church.

That brings so much joy to my heart.
I’m really grateful for what God taught me through this song—not just how to write it, but how to wait for it. How to stop forcing things. How to trust that His timing is better than mine.

Over the past few months, we’ve been writing and arranging these songs, and it’s been really special to see this project come together.

A lot of time, work, and effort went into making this happen, and I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who helped bring it to life.
