A Kamehameha Schools Kapālama graduate from Nānākuli, Tita is currently pursuing a degree in nursing with hopes of using her education to give back to and care for her community. 🩺🌺

An avid paddler, movement has always been a big part of her life both on and off the water. 🚣🏽‍♀️

A Kauaʻi girl currently studying at Chaminade University with big goals of becoming a PA. Julia is grounded in her faith, family, and a desire to give back to the community that raised her.

We’re so proud to support Julia on her journey and can’t wait to see where it takes her! 🌿✨

Our scholarship is rooted in the belief that Movement is Medicine — that prioritizing your health and caring for your body creates a foundation that carries into every part of your life.

We’re so proud to introduce this year’s scholars and give you a little glimpse into who they are, what they’re working toward, and what movement means to them. 🫶🏽

Meet our ʻIWA Athletic Scholars PART 1 - KAILENA AKAU

One of our favorite things about growing ʻIWA is being able to pour that support right back into our community 🫶🏽 When you support us, you help make things like this possible.

This year was the FIRST year of our ʻIWA Athletic Scholarship, and we were able to award 3 amazing students scholarships to help support them as they continue their education. 🥹✨

At the heart of this scholarship is something we’ve always believed in, MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE. 💚

Movement isn’t just about working out or being an athlete. It’s about taking care of your body and mind, building healthy habits, and understanding that the choices we make today can have an impact on our health for years to come. That belief is the foundation of this scholarship and something we hope our scholars carry with them wherever life takes them.

We finally got all three of our scholars together for a little content + bonding day, and now it’s time for you to get to know them tooooo 🥹
