It’s been a hell of a decade. Ten years ago I left everything behind to start this musical project in San Diego with a friend of mine, which fell through almost immediately, but gave way to me founding this even better project. I am beyond grateful for this insane rollercoaster ride of an adventure it’s been with this band, and for all the people who have supported us, cheered us on, hindered us, given us crap, helped us, hurt us, loved us, hated us, moshed, danced, bought us drinks, and shared in this journey. You have all made us better. (Huge thanks to the @SDPD_DPT and @LAPDhq for not arresting us and even supporting us on several occasions.) We’ve had so many great moments that it’s hard to narrow it down to just ten shots, but here are some of the best! 2020 holds a lot of promise between new material, new collaborations, and a new lineup. Stay tuned. It’s never dull here. taken in San Diego, California by @thejaggedlines

Holding It Together • Playing bass has made me a better person. It’s taught me to listen more than I speak, to support more than to shine, and to serve the song. I tell all of my bass students to always serve the song above everything else. You will have your moments to be the center of attention, but that’s not what this instrument is about. Your job is to be the song’s steady rhythm if everything else stops, changes, or moves, and you must be smart enough to support the melody effectively and maintain the song’s progression. This means your timing must be flawless, and your note selection prudent to blend, stand out, and create tension, anticipation, or relief as the song calls for. You must know the song’s structure better than everyone else in the band. Sometimes you’ll be noticed, but more importantly, sometimes you won’t, which means you did your job and held it all together. taken in San Diego, California by @thejaggedlines

*HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT* Our new single, “I Hate the Girl I Love,” has dropped! Check it out wherever you get your music.
.
Based on a very true story, the song captures that moment when love turns into a blistering pain, and the cognitive dissonance of feeling negatively about the one you love hits.

We have another great lineup for our fundraiser @fullcirclesaloon on Sunday, February 22, from 2-6. @jeffdewineofficial will be kicking us off with his stellar tunes. @cammichaelhersh will come stomping on next (pun intended) with his stomp box. Our headliner, @thejaggedlines will rock the house with there originals and a few cover (I presume). The @springharpfest Board Band will have their debut showing featuring @harmonicajohnfrazer , @ric.lee.5 , @karldring , and @kriswottmusic that is bound to be interesting. We will end the day with an open blues jam; so bring your harps, amps, and instruments. See you there #sandiego …
