Feeling homesick, so sharing a piece from early last year. This feels so far away 🤍 by @thejemjournals

Oh, to be witnessed! ❤️

Last night, I shared my poetry to a roomful of people for the first time in years (and the second time in my life).

What a special ending to the year, and one that has inspired me beyond words. It is such a magical thing to be able to create and to share and to witness and be witnessed. In whatever capacity you have to do so, I urge you to do the same!

Thank you @redwheelbarrowpoetrycollective for welcoming me into this space, and @zubayrcharles for sharing the evening.

Zubayr's collection is being published early next year, so keep an eye on his socials!

As for me, more of my work will be posted soon, and I have some exciting things planned for 2026. I promise! 🤍 by @thejemjournals

Hello all 🤍
I've been quiet on here for quite some time, I know. I've been re-evaluating what it means to me to be a poet and a storyteller, and I've decided to start taking myself a little more seriously (while simultaneously deciding to start letting myself live a little more freely).

So, The Jem Journals is undergoing some changes, as am I. As part of this next step, I've decided to start a substack to share my longer musings about the world and my upcoming travels (!!!)

And, of course, there will be poems landing here soon—stay tuned!

I'd very much like it if you join me on this journey. The link is in my bio xoxo by @thejemjournals
