Happy Pride! To you, to me (🩷💛💙), and to all the queer ladies I draw… from behind while holding something (they want to eat or already have eaten). Please don’t look into the psychology of this 😅 I don’t want to know

Fulfilled a dream to go back to @cartoonstudies and give a Visiting Artist talk this past week! Taught the students about walking along the path of video games and tabletop games to help fund their comic dreams.

Talked about writing to motion comics to concept art to storyboarding commercials, this slide from Plants Vs Zombies: Heroes

Home of the new library

The original flavor Colodny building

Shocking the unshockable @james_sturmish, who is making incredible work happen with the Applied Cartooning Lab

Diner breakfast and monster stories with the incredible @stephenrbissette. I snagged a copy of his latest, In the Mood for Monsters collection!

Dave Lloyd acting perfectly normal

I was around for First Friday in White River Junction and as usual the Colodny was getting some gorgeous art put up, this was a baseball show called Line Drives and Motion Lines. @cuylerkeating + @jaradgreene putting up some last pieces

Cuyler (right) was a great host and made sure to let me visit the Schulz Library, where I worked a bazillion years ago with @colleenfrakes + @granny_mcgurk + @charlesforsman. Got to meet @ebsciales!

Just a bit of the stacks

The Filling Station is a biker bar no more! Thanks to David Liebens and his wife, it’s a local hangout for everyone! Caught a comics reading in progress.

The Hotel Coolidge

The Filling Station peeks through

Continued to bug students and graduates working the library, Vic and I shared our favorite zines from the zine garden

Kim Souza still has the coolest clothes, vintage and handmade at @shoptherev!

Downtown

Damn these leaves! No other set of trees will do in my mind.

One of my old bosses, David Fairbanks Ford works the pianola at the now closed but musical archives @themainstreetmuseum

Lovely to see Matt Bucy of the Tip Top, one of the other pillars of White River Junction! taken in White River Junction, Vermont by @thejenya

12.07.2024 (USA Wedding Edition)
The biggest of thank you’s to my friends and family who came out to Texas for a USA-based wedding reception to meet Lucas, the man I met on an elevator, for the first time. Well, some of you had met him before!

We gathered at El Norte, the only other spot I loved more that my mom’s place or the library. Family owned Tex-Mex, we were the first people to ever use their big back room for a wedding reception. It was fantastic 💚

My only two wishes was we had had a professional photographer, we didn’t get pictures with everyone. And that we had more time, we planned it quickly and some of my invites didn’t get out.

The weekend was full of small events that were personal to us. With @rage_kage_games + @writejessr

We played games at the local comic and games store. With @brittniliyanage + @lucaslevinson

We also purchased more than a few games! @writejessr + @smatthew_b enjoying the storytelling

And when we got hungry…

Ate even more food, friends and family mingling 🥰

With Texas shaped cornbread

Not to mention, we visited a local whiskey distillery. @smatthew_b checks the clarity

Figuring which was good straight and what was better in a mixed drink

Then ate even more food. Lucas and @writejessr could probably share some stories about living with me

@granny_mcgurk going hard at the Louisiana joint 💚

Uncle Kurt questioning nothing about his calzone choices

We were and are so lucky to have shared this moment.

Family from all over came to see us.

My mother who has always supported me and been a second mom to others.

@nomikane, me, and @granny_mcgurk used to terrorize the town of White River Junction. We all had to move to separate states as a result.

And we all took in some holiday lights together ✨💚

And Lucas and I couldn’t resist. These lips? Taken! Love you @lucaslevinson taken in Texas, USA by @thejenya

9.21.2024 (French Wedding Edition)
Thank you for the ride of my life, @lucaslevinson. Two years since our wedding and every time, I would choose you.

The very cute car Lucas surprised me with to take us from town hall to the reception.

A small wedding with the mayor and my witness who also translated everything into English for some of our guests, thank you @mp.noel

Friends, family, and coworkers joined us

The city even put out a tiny bridge 🦺 for us to enjoy

Lovely family

Bouquet by my mom, borrowed bouquet tie from @kimbosstory

Bordeaux is the color

Black and orange

Place settings

My gorgeous mom

More tears, more toasts

The main event: pièce montée or as we say in English croquembouche (crunch in mouth???)

✨

Friends from all over over came to celebrate! @bordeauxtenor + Kathryn

Family and friends on both sides

And hours of people helping us make origami flowers, cutting name tags…

Blowing up balloons

@kimbosstory made the best flowers out of our vintage maps ✨💚 and took so many pictures, thank you ☺️

Great show at @okcomicarts! Never in a million years did I think Oklahoma (where I’m from) would have a cool comics festival and I’d be a guest. Big thanks to @robertwilsoniv, @artistjerrybennett, @ogawaburukku, and Brian Winkeler (and others) for this gift and having the vision to make this festival!

More soon! by @thejenya

Circe may have been able to take Odysseus to the Underworld BUT only Jen Vaughn can take us into different worlds beyond our own, through video games and tabletop games! Come to GGC and see what worlds she'll take us and our Featured Contributors to through the panels she'll be moderating!

Jen is a cartoonist, and narrative designer for tabletop and video games. She's currently working on the science-fantasy video game Trailblazers: Into the March and is a cast member of Twilight's Edge, a Pathfinder 2e actual play podcast on the Tumble Through network.

Her past comics clients include Hachette, Clarion, IDW Comics, BOOM!, Archie, Dynamite, and NPR, and her past TTRPG clients include Wizards of the Coast, Onyx Path and more. She's worked in the digital space with Niantic Games, PopCap/EA, and Glu Mobile. In addition to all of that, Vaughn spent six years telling stories with the family-friendly femme-presenting D&D podcast d20 Dames, so if you want creepy mysteries or cozy adventures, look no further.

Come and meet her at GeekGirlCon 2026!
