Added jumping (very small jumps) and jogging to the list of new things I’m working on in PT. I’m trying my hardest to give myself grace and be patient as I’m working to get back to dancing.

Grace and patience: two things that are so needed in this season of my life. How are yall extending yourself grace and what in your life is requiring just a little more patience? Lmk in the comments.

But seriously, I often think about how much pain I would push through on tour. Just thinking I need to strengthen my hips or do more mobility work. While yes, strength and mobility are important, some times there’s a bigger issue at hand.

Dancers take care of yourself.

Recovering from bilateral arthroscopic hip surgery has not been easy BY FAR! Mentally struggling, dealing with change in my weight from months of not being able to do much of any/limited physical activity, and working to build back up my strength, and as all artists have to do- figuring out what’s next.

Here’s a peak into what the road to full-recovery looks like for me. As always just keeping honest and sharing the process.

I’m making my way back, slowly but surely.

Contemplated not sharing, but I’ve been told on numerous occasions that I should. So here (some of them) are. Been putting pencil (and marker lol) to paper while I’m waiting for these hips to heal.

I’ve been observing the community lately- our people and the energy they carry. And this is what came out. Our complexity, our joy, and most importantly our love.

Happy Last day of pride month! But remember we’re super charged all summer.

I’m finally allowing myself to close such an amazing chapter in my life.

I often ponder that if I had known my last show with @thewizbway were my last, would I have done it differently? I believe the answer is no. When I received the news that I had booked this tour, not only was I excited, but I knew the responsibility it would be to be in this cast, to tell this story, and to carry a legacy 50 years in the making. I realized how important this show is. I realized how so many people across the country needed this! The Joy- the Black Joy, the laughter, the love, and to witness this story being told in the style of themselves and their culture. So no, I wouldn’t have done it differently because every time I set foot on stage- I carried those truths in my heart.

Happy Closing to the 1st National Tour of the 50th Anniversary Revival of the Wiz! I’m so blessed to have met this cast, crew, and creative team. I’m so fortunate that my first ever Broadway tour was The Wiz. And I’m so grateful to say that I’m forever apart of this legacy.

I hate that I couldn’t finish this journey with y’all (injuries suck, haha)! But I’m so proud to call all of you my friends and colleagues.

I’ve been waiting to share this for so long. My first time choreographing a dance team piece and I couldn’t be happier with the final product. Thank you Blake and Lexi for trusting me with your team. Congrats to @gca.danceteam for a fantastic season. I’m so proud of this team and how they brought my work to life with beauty, grace, and authenticity!

What a year…

2025 has been filled with so much. Love, joy, hard work, growth, grief, laughter, lessons and exploration.

I began this year making my National Broadway Tour debut finally realizing that everything I want in this life is at my reach.

I’m ending 2025 thankful for the growth, accepting the love that was given by so many, and looking forward to what’s to come.
