I’ve dug holes 2x3 metres and filled them with logs and wood chip from the garden Later I will put the green layer and then the dugout soil. Next summer, I hope to carry fewer watering cans.

The other 48. The butternut is hunter which is meant to produce plentiful small fruits and the red one is potimarron which again is a small fruiting variety so you don’t have a half squash festering in the back of the fridge by @thejoyfulgardenerscode

Just a heads up to the inexperienced I’m digging out ground to make hugel kultur beds to guard against future prolonged dry spells We had an inch plus of rain yesterday and two inches down the soil is dust dry I’m keeping the plants I want to put out in pots until we have more rain a lot more by @thejoyfulgardenerscode

GCSE maths I go to bed with 250 litres in my primary butt. I wake up with 500 litres. I apply 500 litres to my potager because I need the butt empty to move it 2 inches so I can fit another one next to it. How many litres do I now have in my butt? Answer 500 litres Please show your working but without being too serious. Ah the butt that keeps on giving by @thejoyfulgardenerscode

I love this willow which was sold to me as Salix Saskiewicz However AI says no such variety exists. It is bright yellow from March to November and the leaves have not burned in this summer. When it gets too big for the space I cut it back to 18 inches and off it goes again. A super plant by @thejoyfulgardenerscode

My favourite spot in the garden right now. And no water has ever been added since they were first planted (I inherited an uncultivated pasture which came past my waist in 2014) by @thejoyfulgardenerscode
