Looking at this horrifying photo hubs took of last night’s bloody red moon, I can’t imagine why ancient people saw eclipses as terrifying bad omens. Silly ancient people, it’s just a moon looking like it’s soaked in blood.

Thanks to everyone who has reached out. Figured I’d update you all on where we are with the Palisades Fire, so I made you this very special graphic. 😝

As of now, we are not in an evacuation zone, but experiencing heavy smoke. Many, many people in our extended community have had to evacuate, and some have lost homes. LA hasn’t had rain in 9+ months, so our trees are pretty good kindling at this point. If you pray, go ahead and ask these winds to die down so firefighters stand a chance. All fires shown here are 0° contained as of posting. Air assets have been grounded due to 100 mph wind gusts. But me and mine are safe from fire right now. 🙏 by @thekarunavirus

A perfect stranger cut two blossoms for me today because he saw how much I love the smell of these Hong Kong Orchids. Random act of kindness that brought me so much joy. Thanks, Luis 🌸 by @thekarunavirus

VUCA is a term the military invented in the 80’s. It stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. The Davos business leadership set co-opted the term, but as we are seeing, it belongs to the military, because it’s a major threat to global peace. The pace of VUCA has been substantially increasing since the 1980’s, with the business leadership set recently saying things like “workers will have to adapt to a new economy where they will change jobs 17 times in their careers.” News flash: humans are not biologically equipped to handle rapid change. Rapid VUCA has us reacting and behaving from fear, the most powerful of all human emotions, but the one that brings out the worst parts of our nature. I believe we are capable of being better than our fear allows, but not without support. Today, connect with someone you’ve been thinking about but haven’t spoken to in a while. Check in. Ask for help; receive help when it’s offered. We are only as good and healthy as our relationships and connections; we need each other always, not just now, but now more than ever. And try to notice at least one small beautiful thing today, or laugh at one stupid joke. Fear is powerful, but joy is transformative, if we can find it. Look for it. Sending you all love, -K. by @thekarunavirus

Today marks another full trip around the sun for me. What a journey, and still more awaits! Sending the full forcefield of my love to surround all of you. We are in this together. Let’s make it count. 💓🦀💓 by @thekarunavirus

Today is a special one. On the spiritual plane, it’s Beltane 🌸, a day of ceremonial fire & smoke cleansing to shake off the cobwebs of the cold seasons and prepare for the blooming & fruiting of warmer months. On the material plane, it’s May Day, a celebration of the power of collective bargaining, unionization, and mutual aid. In a shared world of intense struggle, transition, chaos, I’m finding my ✨glimmers✨ in the sky, the flowers, the trees, the plants in my tiny corner of the globe. Hoping this little offering of delight reaches you when you need a bit of quiet joy. 🌿 🐌 🌹 🦋 🌳 🍑 🌓 by @thekarunavirus

Today, the transiting Sun conjoins my natal Moon — in other words, today’s my personal annual New Moon. Feeling called to reflect on the transitions I’ve embodied in this life until today; these photos are a microcosm of my movements through my lifetime, and I feel myself in active transition now. Who knows what this next year has in store? Who will I become? Who will witness this journey, and whose journeys will I have the honor of bearing witness to? I hope this finds you in active embrace of the You you’ve been, and the You you’re becoming. Happy Lunar Return to me 🌱🌑💫 #tranform #moonchild by @thekarunavirus
