With so many new followers (and a new addition to our pack), we figure it’s time to circle back around and introduce ourselves…

Hi! We’re Britt and John, a husband-and-wife team of content creators, pet parents, and outdoor travel lovers. We are based in Ontario, Canada, where we explore the great outdoors with our two dogs 🐶 and two cats 🐱 by our side.

We are tent campers, enjoying both car camping and backcountry adventures across the province. Our experiences have enabled us to create campground guides, gear reviews, and informational content that offer up-to-date knowledge for outdoor-loving pet parents everywhere.

Founded in 2022, we recognized that we were regularly asked questions not only by friends and family but also by complete strangers we encountered while on our adventures. This highlighted the need for a resource for pet parents interested in introducing their furry family members to the world of outdoor travel.

Nobody goes camping to feel like they’re sleeping in the middle of a brightly lit parking lot!

Finding the right lighting setup at camp can be tricky, especially when you’re camping with pets. 🔦 You need enough light to cook dinner, spot tarp guylines before you trip over them, and take the pack out for late-night bathroom breaks.

But you also want to respect your campsite neighbours and protect local wildlife.

Theia is having an amazing time over at Clear Lake, chasing bugs, playing in the water, birdwatching and basking in the heat of the campfire. 😍

Of course, camping with a cat takes a little extra prep and consideration, and she's never allowed to run loose off leash!

THIS is face of a happy pup! 😍

Ready to introduce your cat to the adventure cat life? The journey starts here!

Being harness trained gives Theia a way to experience the outdoors safely. Rather than worrying about the risks of being outdoors (cars, predators, getting lost), we can focus on:

😺 Exploring new trails, campsites, or even simply making the most of our own property
😺 Enjoying supervised outdoor time together
😺 Bird watching, sunbathing, and bug hunting
😺 Building our bond with shared experiences

Every cat is different though. Some cats, like Theia, take to wearing the harness right away. Others need more time and gradual introductions before they are comfortable. And that's okay!
