publisher mail unboxing 🧹🎃⚡️🍁📖🕯️🪾🏰🦁🍫

i was very kindly gifted this by @insighteditions @rachelquinmarketing so a very big thank you to them for helping this happen 🥹

i love harry potter so much and it has always been one of my favourite things. especially the first film, the cosy comforts it brings is unmatched and i fear i could quote the whole thing 🥲 so being able to get a copy of the ‘Quidditch: A Book of Magical Surprises’ is such a dream. This is a pop-up book and it is beautifully curated and crafted to depict the quidditch scenes within Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone 🥹

it is such a joy to re-experience the magic of the wizarding world and after reading ‘Quidditch Through the Ages’ a few months ago, this filled that gap perfectly. i’m someone who loves nostalgia 110% so being able to absorb one of my fave film moments in another form its such a gift! will definitely be flipping through this when i have my harry potter marathons 🥹

filled with levers, tabs and wheels it is the perfect book for lovers of the wizarding world and especially quidditch! being able to experience this magic alongside harry is so fascinating and wholesome!

i’m in awe of this book and its beautiful craftsmanship and am forever grateful for opportunities like this 🤍

fear i may be entering a book buying ban after this ✨🗡️🦊👑🦇❤️‍🔥🏹🌙

obviously had to pop into @waterstoneswinchesterbrooks to get threshing day! i’m so so excited about this, still haven’t finished onyx storm but the sparkly sprayed edges had me in a chokehold. also being able to look backwards in time and reminisce through different characters povs is so exciting for me 🥹

also had to pick up the knave and the moon! the shepherd king series is my favourite duology in the whole wide world and i’m definitely feeling late to the game with the stone water kingdom series but i already know i’m going to be obsessed with it!

finally, wench!!! i have had this on my list for ages and definitely is my most anticipated read of this year. the whole robin hood element is so so intriguing to me as a lover of the old disney film. also the cover, like come on!!! genuinely might be one of the most beautiful books i own 🥹

p.s. thank u lola for taking these xxx

dreamiest day at the home of jane austen 📖🕯️🪶🧺

this place was so beautifully put together and is a must see for any book lover, especially fans of jane austen. seeing the house & all of its beauty was so incredible and really feels like it’s stopped in time.

the gift shop was stocked of so so many books and editions, i was so tempted to get ‘the other bennet’ sister as i loved the show!

the dresses on the line were so cute! loved this little touch. there were so many rooms filled with amazing artefacts like her writing table that she used to write all her novels on. she used to move it according to where the light was best 🥹

picked through my physical and kindle lists and thought these are ones that are the most well loved 🥹

definitely late to the game with all of these but cannot wait to find the perfect time to sink into each of them. personally, i always end up reading more during the ‘ber months for some reason. maybe it’s the cosy element of staying in and having all the time to read but i also do prefer an autumnal or magical read. some of these do have lots of books in front that i need to read first but a lot of these are on my autumn hopeful list.

i also do like the idea of reading things a little bit later where you can witness all the hype and take your own time with it. definitely feels like a treat to read when you know it’s so well loved.

also i keep seeing edits of this song on tiktok with lots of autumnal aesthetics and it makes me feel sick with nostalgia. missing the life of a showgirl autumn so bad 🧡

the start of september calls for magical reads ✨📖🍂🕯️

the faraway inn - currently 35% of the way through and i’m so intrigued! reached a really fun bit and cannot wait to continue. really love the setting of vermont & the inn and all the little mystical bits added in. starting to be introduced to more characters and am really enjoying them all in their own ways. feel like this will be better as the story develop and will predict this one to be 5 stars.

summerween - i just started this yesterday morning and it is the september pick in mine and my best friends book club! @bethbutbookish_ kindly suggested this and i recently bought it so was so excited to give it a go. also feel like this month is the perfect time as it is still kind of sunny but im definitely wishing it was gloomy all day every day 🥹 only in chapter 2 so haven’t got a proper understanding but i am really enjoying the concept of the town and it’s quirks. at this point i think it may be a 4 star read!

happy september! felt like this was the perfect time to get some of my physical reads checked off before returning to uni 🥹📖🌧️🥞

thinking about making this into a little series so i will be held accountable 😭

in all honesty this is probably a dream day in my eyes, i mean gloomy weather & reading all day is the best combo. i also watched a lot of youtube & films in the background, which helped so much. i definitely can’t read well in silence, i always end up getting distracted so i often do have ambience & love matching it to the book or theme.

if you are looking for a booktuber to watch kaylee is my holy grail. especially if you love spooky things, she is your girl. the vlogs with her friends are my all time favourite, feels so comforting & always end up adding loads of books to my tbr afterwards!

had to have all my essentials with me and new pyjamas! honestly don’t know why i get so much joy in buying new pj sets or loungewear but i fear i’m constantly buying them 🥹

i ended up picking shatter me as one of my close friends given it to me and she is the biggest fan of this series so she obviously wanted me to join in and i’m so thankful she did!! i was hooked from the first page & truly loved every second. the writing style was super clear so i was able to visualise the whole thing which is such a bonus. i’m so happy i finally got to this book and will probably be continuing it as soon as possible 🥹

i did start the hex and the city afterwards but ended up spending the eve with family so will keep this one ready for the next reading marathon where i hopefully finish more than one book 🥲

little snippets of yesterday ⭐️🍦🌷🐑🍎💌

really love living close to the cotswolds area to be able to do days like this 🥹 also ice cream for breakfast is truly the best way to start the day! there also was an really adorable duck race on the river windrush which goes through the centre of burton-on-the-water 🐥

afterwards we popped to the crown pub which is a part of the wild thyme and honey inn and it was truly darling. it was nestled in the most tranquil spot and felt like a little slice of peace. also the raspberry limoncello martini was stunning and was the perfect summer drink, tempted to try and make it myself 🍋🥹

next we went to the cotswold garden centre and spotted a bookshop next door! the outside reminded me so much of vermont and held this cosy vibe inside. walking through brought me so much joy in just exploring so many different kinds of genres and styles of books and definitely snapped pictures of ones that i will be on the look out for again!

in the end i only picked up one book which i felt was a win! i picked up the marriage portrait by maggie o’farrell and was in awe of the cover and even more intrigued by the blurb. admittedly i’m a bit of a history and the world of historical fiction was one that i’m eager to explore. specifically it explores the possibility surrounding the death of a duchess in renaissance italy. truly so hyped to give this one a go and trying very hard to not abandon my june tbr 🤭

the last stop was at the farmer’s dog pub where we mainly visited the grand tour tent & shop and managed to get some bits! it felt very special and looks like the perfect place to spend an afternoon as they had so many amazing things to do. highly recommend for anyone who has watched clarkson’s farm! 🐮

in the end we managed to see the pretty pink sunset and ended the day rewatching the first series of clarkson’s farm 🩷
