POSTS STORIES REELS

oh hi ◡̈

it’s been a minute since i’ve introduced myself, so i thought we could do a little reintroduction. 🌱

welcome to the katrina chapters – a peek into my bookish life as a full-time working mom to a toddler. if that sounds like a lot... it is. here you’ll find bookish ramblings, recent reads, reviews, and the occasional dose of real life too. 🙂‍↕️✨

a little about me:
• i’m a socal native living in orange county, ca ☀️
• i’m 29 and still not sure if i’m gen z or millennial
• i recently took up pilates and i fear it lives up to the hype
• i’ve been a huge reader since elementary school... at one point, they banned me from winning reader of the month because i’d won it “too many times” 🙄
• i have 12 tattoos and only one is book-related
• my favorite genre is fantasy, but i’ll dip into romance or ya contemporary every once in a blue moon
• i’m obsessed with anakin skywalker and i think he’s the blueprint for a perfect villain arc 😌♥️

do we have anything in common? let me know!👇🏻 by @thekatrinachapters

✨the vibes i bring to the function✨

not gonna lie, this trend made me have an identity crisis because when i thought of things that scream “katrina”… head empty.

but this is meeee, ft. personality pics 🙂‍↕️😂

what do we have in common besties? 🤠 by @thekatrinachapters

did i buy myself a pair of @brooksrunning ghosts for half off at rei to kickstart my journey back into running? yes i did.

as some of you know, i was a collegiate runner. when i was in high school, working for my scholarship, running was my biggest passion. i miss it, so i’m getting back to it.

and technically i have run a half, but it was just a long run for training so i don’t count it LOL 😂

anyway, i started a training plan on @runna - starting with their “return to running” plan before diving into a dedicated half-marathon training block. let’s do this 🙂‍↔️ by @thekatrinachapters

my favvvvvvv little mantra that i put into practice every single day. 🌿✨

i know this sounds corny, but truly the mantra, “no kind thought goes unsaid” has made such a positive impact on my life 🥹

it’s a habit that costs nothing and is so easy to maintain. 🫶🏻 by @thekatrinachapters

spend the day with me at my 9-5 as i return from 2 days of pto 🫣 5 meetings, 2 spontaneous calls, the email inbox of doom, and a to-do list a mile long 🫪

i locked in too hard in the afternoon and forgot to film any clips from 2-6 pm LOL 😭

but we got it all done and got to enjoy an evening at the mouse house after so i’d call that a win. 🙂‍↕️

and this impulsive decision to go to disneyland made me want to work my spontaneous muscles more!! i used to be such a “wing it” girl back in college - my sleeve started with a friday the 13th flash tattoo, i randomly got my septum pierced after a dmv appointment, and i was the queen of spontaneous camping trips that were planned the night before. 🌿

obviously, as a full-time working mom, that kind of spontaneity isn’t always possible, but i can still make life a little bit more fun by leaning into those impulsive thoughts every once in awhile… right? 🤭 by @thekatrinachapters

it can be hard to find fellow mom friends as a full-time working mom, but i decided to put myself out there and welcome our new neighbors with a lil gift basket!! 🌿✨

this was so fun to make, and the little neighbor came over yesterday with his new monster truck and played with little dude so it seems i made the right call with that one! 🤭 by @thekatrinachapters

how am i supposed to just move on from last night? 🥹🐞✨

floor seats at @noahkahanmusic the great divide tour with @readwithrilee @showingshelflove 😭 and he brought out @chappellroan !? 🫪

i’ve been listening to noah’s music since 2018 and i’m so happy more people are discovering his music 🥹👏🏻 by @thekatrinachapters

NOTHING HITS LIKE A CRISPY DIET COKE 😭

i don’t care if it’s the single thing holding me back from being a milf, i will never give it up. 🙂‍↔️ by @thekatrinachapters

if you walked out of the movie theater after seeing christopher nolan’s “the odyssey” wanting more greek mythology, you have come to the right place. 👏🏻

and if you don’t necessarily feel like reading an ancient classic, i’f got you 🤭

here are some greek retellings i highly recommend!

books mentioned:
🏛️ circe by madeline miller
🏛️ the song of achilles by madeline miller
🏛️ a thousand ships by natalie hayes
🏛️ elektra by jennifer saint
🏛️ clytemnestra by costanza casati
🏛️ ariadne by jennifer saint

let me know if you’ve read any of these! by @thekatrinachapters

one of my biggest pet peeves about social media these days is the black and white thinking. if you invest in organization and productivity, you MUST be submitting to hustle culture…right? 🧐

not for me. 🙂‍↔️ i have big goals and a color coded calendar so that i can be more present in my everyday life. so i can enjoy my day off without work tasks lingering.

i “hustle” at work so that i can protect my time outside of work hours. 🤌🏻

how i reset and get back on track when i’m feeling overwhelmed 🌿

it doesn’t matter how much i plan, i end up feeling overwhelmed every once in awhile. here’s how i get out of that!

1. identify
2. organize
3. execute

works everyyyyy time 🙂‍↔️
