Nine months in the making

Decades of stories

Dozens of shows

Layers of artist inspirations

The love of family and friends.

Thank you thank you thank you -

For reminding us of grace, for listening,

A lot of church friends ask me, “what did your church do for you during your abandonment and #divorce?”

The simple answer? Nothing.

They were too afraid of being called some names, too afraid of a coiled tongue and a man-hating culture.

Too afraid to keep their vows, spoken and unspoken.

Pray for our local churches, to be loyal and faithful and glued to the Word of God.

Pray for men who are accused and impoverished, abandoned and maligned, vilified and robbed from.

Let us pray.

“Sitting Right There on Your Mama’s Porch” has been an exercise in so many things -

Love, loss, mindset

Melody, time, rhyme

Death, burial, resurrection

@kevinfrid and I had a great time shooting this @whitesandsnps

“Christmas Letter to My Child” was born from a dark camper van on the side of a highway in North Carolina, and a thought I wouldn’t forget:

Why was I on a highway for Christmas?

What would I want my parents to say to me?

How might these things remind me of my forever home?

Thank you for listening.

The album drops tomorrow.

“Pharisee Lip Gloss” reminds me of a lot of things -

The back porch brunches on Saturday

The way my grandmother laughed

The way every choice I made was wrong

The way we gnaw on each other slowly.
