Soul Line Dance: Come party and move! Our free Fall Fun Series is bringing performances and interactive workshops to Jackie Robinson Park Playground, to bring people together and create safer, joyful spaces in Bed-Stuy.

Saturday, October 3: BedStuy Patch-It Workshop with Yenifer Jimenez, plus a dance performance from Brooklyn Ballet 
Saturday, October 10: A music and drum workshop with Deinya Phenix and Okai Musik, plus jewelry making with Latasha Lamar

A lil Throwback Thursdays to my time in Amsterdam. Had a wonderful time.

Red light district was a lil weird cause I was like “Can I look? But don’t stare! These are women not animals! But I’m supposed to look” and then decided to visit the Museum of Prostitution as a happy medium to fulfill my curiosity and get my nerd on.

Yep, definitely on the Millennial Auntie tip where plants 🌱 and gardening is a thang! There is something so gratifying about growing your own food and of course is tastes better (at least in my mind)

On Saturday, Aug. 8, Decatur Street in Bed-Stuy became something of a living cultural commons. Brownstone stoops, sidewalks and storefronts were transformed into stages and gathering spaces as artists, residents, families and local businesses came together for the 13th annual STooPS Summer Festival.

This year’s theme, “Joy as Resistance,” offered more than a slogan for the free neighborhood festival. For STooPS Art & Community Founder and Director Kendra J. Ross, joy has become a way of thinking about what it means to preserve community that has undergone profound change.

The festival allows artists to encounter art in spaces that already belonged to their everyday lives. Rather than placing the work inside a traditional cultural institution, STooPS brings performances and exhibitions directly into the streets, homes, stoops and businesses of Bed-Stuy.
