ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: The Khidd ✨

Hailing from Columbia, South Carolina, The Khidd is one artist that I’ve known for many years. We both came up in the game together working at a Wendy’s back in 2020-2021. Many a night was spent drumming out beats on top of tables and free styling. Seeing his growth as a artist and performing has been a pleasure and I’m glad to consider him a friend❤️

Question 1.
What inspires you to get on the mic and make music?

THE KHIDD: the feeling of knowing that all ideas whether good or bad are being executed at the highest level ... people are gonna talk shit regardless but, as long as my ideas are out there , somebody will resonate with my emotions more than me . that’s the power of the tongue .

Question 2.
If you had a song that you would say is the perfect introduction to you as an artist, what would it be?

THE KHIDD: i have two actually . Upping The Ante and Go To Sleep, Khidd! (4:44 AM) !
Upping The Ante because the first two opening lines show you the type of person I am when it comes to music . I say what I want, how I want with no (slight) regards for my own ear lol . (and yes, i said lol out loud) also , that second verse is crazy .

Question 3.
Are there any artists that you’ve wanted to work with( local or otherwise) that you haven’t yet?

THE KHIDD: yes , hella ! @bigmamagerman , i got a song for you ! it’s this real talented group called @sumthingorange , i’m gonna make something super colorful with them . @jtrawww , @brittonrauscher , @toroymoi , @cocojones ... and may God rest her soul but i really wish i had the opportunity to work with Miss Angie Stone before she transitioned ... we actually grew up in the same neighborhood . 😌

Question 4.
Give us an update on any music you’ve been working on recently.

THE KHIDD: the new music is taking me back and forth . it's about 62.3% done , the other 37.7% percent is left up to me to go out and experience life ... so would yall rather me drop damn near 40% of garbage ? or have 100% of replay value ? ... doesn't matter though , y'all don't wanna hear me, you just wanna dance 🖖🏿
