3rd grade. I used to make my friends listen to me sing country songs in the bathroom during lunch. I was going to be the first Black female country singer! Full concerts. No requests. Because my lineup consisted of only four songs. Until Sharon… She told me that Black girls couldn’t be a country singer because we don’t have horses. So, I stopped my concerts… I stopped singing. …and I waited for Black females to enter the country music scene. A few made a mark in the industry, but nothing of major success. Watching Beyoncé perform opening night of Cowboy Carter was almost 50 years in the making. For all the little brown girls who were told “This is not for you…” just know that’s the purest of lies. @beyonce Thank you. Protector of possibilities… #CowboyCarter taken in SoFi Stadium by @thekimberlyf

Honored to have been selected to voice Oprah’s tenth anniversary release of “What I Know for Sure.”
If you have Audible, you can hear me in the intro/outro of her audiobook.

I recently lost 100,000 dollars on a game show while wearing this pink sweater. According to science, the color pink increases a sense of calmness and reduces aggressive behavior. 😐 by @thekimberlyf

@oprah It took every ounce of my everything to not ask you at the end of this shoot if you wanted to hangout and go to Target. So, if you need to grab a few things before the holidays, I’m free for a light lunch and some retail therapy! But, if you’re busy with #TheColorPurple promo, I totally understand. 💜 #SimplyTheBest #GenXDreamComeTrue by @thekimberlyf
