Bass Ukulele Workouts
Velvet Elvis - Weird Al Yankovic (1988)

Let's talk about genius. Weird Al Yankovic, from the 1988 album "Even Worse".

(I saw Weird Al during his last tour, (all original songs) they opened the show with this classic,...it made my whole night!!)

Velvet Elvis, one of my all-time favorite original compositions from Mr Yankovic.
A song done in the style of The Police....and as you can hear, the band NAILED it. The sounds, the tones, the execution, the changes, pure genius! Nothing was left out. They did it all on this song
Weird Al is without a doubt, the Prince of Pastiche.

Bassist, Mr Stephen Jay @stephenjaymusic, delivers another outstanding performance on this song.
Making it so much fun to play, with just the right amount of difficulty.

Someday, I'd like to ask him about the creative process on songs like this..how they get it done, from conception to the finished product. I am always in awe of tracks like this one.

Speaking of awe....check out my Awesome bass ukulele from Lanikai @lanikaiukes, the all Mahogany MA-EBU.
The bass that brought me out of bass retirement and opened a whole new world for me!

All my gear hangs with Hercules @herculesstands, safe and sound.

Bass Ukulele Workouts -
Y.M.C.A - The Village People
1978

This song was written by Jeaques Morali and Victor Willis.

I really loved this band when I was little... they had all the cool costumes that little dudes wanted to be... policeman, construction worker, motor cycle enthusiast, cowboy, Armed forces and Native American warrior.

And of course super funky Disco bass lines

The great and funky Alfonso Carey on Bass.
