🔥 Pulling strength combo 🔥

Supinated bent-over rows + supinated top-of-pull-up holds = a powerful pairing for building gymnastic pulling strength.

The rows build the strength through your back, lats, biceps and scapular control, while the top hold trains you to own the hardest part of the pull-up with tension and control.

Supersetting movements like this together will do wonders for your pulling endurance and the supinated grip has a carryover to strict pulling 💪🏽 #thekuchmethod by @thekuchmethod

First ring muscle up in the books 👊

If you’ve been chasing a gymnastic skill for a while but feel stuck, you most likely just need structure and specific drills.

The right progressions, programmed week to week, with accountability.

If you’re ready to actually move closer to that goal, drop me a message 🔆 #thekuchmethod by @thekuchmethod

🔆 I’ve heard that some athletes have struggled to maintain their chest-to-bar pull-ups in the latest Open workout ..

Reps might start strong, then they suddenly disappear.

If that sounds familiar, you’re definitely not alone.

There are various reasons why this may happen;

🔸 Grip and forearms fatiguing quickly
🔸 Losing hip drive in the kip
🔸 Pulling too much with the arms
🔸 Timing breaking down between the hip pop and the pull
🔸 Cardio redlining during the workout
🔸 Losing tension in the core during the swing

And forgetting to breathe properly !

In my next post, I’m going to break down the biomechanics of the chest-to-bar pull-up so you can try and identify what your issue might be. 🔆 #thekuchmethod by @thekuchmethod

Nice little gymnastics based EMOM after Olympic lifting today. How fatiguing are wall walks in to wall facing strict HSPU?! 🤪🌝💅🏼 by @thekuchmethod

Drilling the details 🧠

There is nothing wrong with a knee pop for some extra drive.
But if that’s your only gear, you’re stuck when fatigue hits.

🔺🔻Twice a week on the toes-to-bar programme we focus on strength, mobility and rhythm. The main issue I see is loss of core tension, leading to excessive swinging between reps. 🔻🔺

	•	Build strict core strength with hollow holds, hanging knee raisers, strict t2b and controlled negatives.
	•	Improve rhythm through kip swings and beat drills, focusing on smooth, consistent timing.
	•	Prioritise lat engagement by actively pushing down on the bar rather than just hanging.
	•	Use tempo work (slow reps and pauses) to eliminate momentum and reinforce control.

⭕️ Working on really simple drills such as hip pops with a pvc pipe from a hollow position are super transferable when it comes to applying more dynamic movement once up on the rig ⭕️ #thekuchmethod by @thekuchmethod
