Decision-Making

Anticipating slides.
Reading defenses.
Handling pressure.

As our kids equip themselves to win more matchups, we need to prepare them for what happens afterwards. My analogy - we want NFL QBs, not recess QBs. We want a process of reads, an idea of where to look based off where slides and fills are likely to occur.

A good place to start? Get your eyes up, get your stick up. You’re either gonna need to move the ball or hold the slide (if you aren’t shooting immediately).

ATTACK FAST FIRST.
••
THE BEST DODGE IS SPEED. 💨
••
2nd grade through high school. The foundation never changes.
••
Attack downhill FULL SPEED → Stutter → Jab → Explode back downhill.
••
The goal isn’t to dance around defenders. It’s to disrupt their feet, create separation, and attack space.
••
Speed creates pressure. Change of pace creates separation.
••
Master this FIRST before adding all the extra moves.
••
Foundation first. Complexity later.
