@instagram Fam! I usually never do these, but I entered a contest! Winners get their own six-episode podcast produced by iHeartRadio, 25k, and a guest spot on an episode of On Air with Ryan Seacrest! I started hosting in 1992 while still a student at Clark Atlanta University. I have interviewed legendary stars such as Ms. Lauryn Hill and Chaka Khan. I even have a viral video floating around of one of the first videos of a very young T.I. Rapping on my show @yadestiny in 1994. I’m a natural storyteller, improviser, comedian, interviewer and entertainer with 20+ years of TV production and performance experience. The first cut is on Thursday the 15th of October at 7PM PDT. I’m currently in 2nd place in my group. Help me lead my own podcast produced by iHeartRadio, take home $25,000, and be a guest on an episode of On Air with Ryan Seacrest. When asked: What’s your favorite part of hosting?
I said “Making the guest comfortable and having a real conversation. I remember during my interview with the legendary Chaka Khan, I asked “How is singing spiritual to you?” She answered without hesitation, “Singing... is the way I pray.” - I got chills! That response was so powerful to me.. “ - I would love to have your vote! Thank you in advance 😊👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Link in story posts as well !! https://tophost.org/2026/leslie-johnson by @thelesliejohnson

I had the most amazing time at the @bronzelens Festival this year! 🎬✨

I had the pleasure of attending the screening of my friend @imeetuk ‘s film, “Bride Price,” and y’all… this film was SO GOOD! 🙌🏾

I laughed… a LOT. 😂 I felt all the feels, and yes, I even got a little teary-eyed. 🥹❤️ It’s such a beautiful, heartfelt film, and I absolutely loved the journey it took me on.

I also had the pleasure of meeting one of the film’s stars, the incredibly talented @sowepolo_23 , who beautifully portrayed one of the main characters, Awa Alahji. What a phenomenal performance!

And I was thrilled to meet the very talented writer and producer of the film, @george_n_faux_ of @georgefauxfilms . We chatted for a while after the screening, and I had to tell him how much I appreciated the way he allowed his characters time and space to evolve and change.

That really stood out to me. It was so satisfying watching these characters experience such deep, complex emotions and seeing them grow throughout the story. It gave us, as the audience, the opportunity to connect with them, understand them, and ultimately love each character more and more. ❤️

👏🏾 Please support independent filmmakers!
And do yourself a favor: when “Bride Price” comes to a screen near you, GO SEE IT! 🎥🍿

You’ll be glad you did!
