Book Review 📖: Murdle Heist

99/55📖

4.5⭐️

This was such a fun and different take from the usual murdle puzzles! I loved trying to figure out the dofferent crimes that we had to commit as Miss Ruby. I was stuck and got confused on some part, but I really loved it. I wish we got some more Logico in the book but it was fun to see where everything crossed over.

Book Review 📖: Heir of Fire

98/55📖

4.75⭐️

"She was the heir of ash and fire, and she would bow to no one."

"And then Celaena set the world on fire."

OH MY FIRE 🔥

Just when I couldn't be hooked on this series, this books has been GRASPING AT THE CRUMBS. Im literally gnawing at the bars of my enclosure.

At first I will say, having so many povs was a lot for my brain to get used too, but as I continued reading, each chapter was so pivotal and provided so many slabs of information, that towards the end everything just clicked.

I am completely obsessed with Aelin. She is quite literally the most badass and spicy FMC. I also now understand the appeal of Rowan. At first I wasnt a fan of how much of an ass he was, but in that second half... YEAH I GET IT PEOPLE.

I cant wait to see what happens in Queen of Shadow, but im not gonna lie IM SCARED...

Book Review 📖: Echoes In The Dark

97/100📖

4.25⭐️

"Funny how it's only when you're on the verge of losing something that you realize how badly you need it."

First I want to thank the author for allowing me to be on the ARC team for this book! I was so intrigued when I saw the tropes and the teasers for this book that I had hoped id be able to read it early!

Once I started this book, I was hooked. I loved the premise and the characters. I always eat up a romantic suspense especially when there is a serial killer aspect to it. It just checks off most of my boxes.

I loved the relationships and especially the found family in this book. It just goes to show that when you find your people, whether its blood or not, when you find them and love them so furiously, they will do absolutely anything for you.

I do wish their was a more established time frame to indicate certain moments in their story. I also wish there was a little more angst and suspense during a section of the story. Besides that, i really did enjoy it!

Book Review 📖: Threshing Day

96/55📖

5⭐️

⚠️SPOILERS BELOW⚠️

"Say the word and I won't so much as look at another woman." His gaze meets mine, and I'm trapped again. "Ever."

There was never a flicker of doubt that this book would both help me and utterly destroy me.

I dont know how im supposed to be normal about this book. It felt so fucking good to be home but at the same time it reopened wounds that were stabbed over from Onyx Storm. From all the POVs in this book, it helped me understand each of the characters, their relationships with their dragons and how their signet were manifested. NOW for each of the charcters in threshing, im just going to scream their names 🤭
-Xaden "The fuck she is" Riorson
-Rhiannon "Squad leader for a reason" Matthias
-Dain "EYES HERE" Aetos
-Liam "Honorable little brother" Mairi
-Ridoc "Sarcastic squirrel" Gamlyn
-Sawyer "the one worth waiting for" Henrick
-Garrick "YEARNING FOR 15 YEARS" Tavis
-Imogen "scared to love" Cardulo
-Bodhi "I choose you" Durran
-Mira "I dont break" Sorrengail
-Brennan "Stressed out older brother" Sorrengail
-Aaric "Planning Prince" Graycastle
-Sloane "GRIEVING ANGEL BABY" Mairi

I truly love all this characters and I miss them so much, some more than others, but now I wait "patiently" in my cell gnawing at the bars of my enclosure for book 4.

🖤⚔️🐉Happy Threshing Day everyone! 🖤⚔️🐉

I am so happy to say I survived my Threshing event on my first try (after a some late night technicalissues)!

I have bonded with my grumpy, spicy Red Dragon named Bierionn. I love him and his is perfect! I cant wait to see what becomes of my signet when we get to it!

This was such a cool and fun little dive into having our own characters in the world of Fourth Wing! It sort of reminds me of figuring out my Hogwarts house 🤭🤭. I cant wait to see what comes next and what adventures we go on!

PS:my review for Threshing Day is coming later today so stay tuned! Im happy to be back home in Basgiath ❤️❤️

PPS: one of my besties Dragon could quite literally be my dragons son 😆🤭 @allitaas

Book Review 📖: The Assassin's Blade

95/55📖

5⭐️

"My name is Celaena Sardothien," she whispered, "and I will not be afraid."

I went into this one with an expectation to be thrown around trying to understand some back story, and boy was i wrong. From the moment you start the 5 prequel stories, you are getting a glimpse into Celaena's world. You are seeing 5 pinnacle moments in her life that will make you understand her.

I saw somewhere that when trying to figure out where to read assassins blade, you either can read it first or read it third (after CoM, which is what I did), you are allowing Celaena to tell you tell you her story at her pace, and I wholeheartedly believe that. You get a chance to understand her and feel with her.

Now, my boy Sam Cortland. Sam, you were a light in such a world of darkness. A love to someone who thought love was lost. Someone who had to remind himself, even if he found it silly, to not be afraid. You, sir, were taken from us in the most cruel way possible and you will be missed most 😢.

If anyone needs me, ill be reading Heir of Fire next, but I need to mourn the loss of a boy who loved his girl unconditionally and a girl who's life was thrown upside down by someone who she thought she could trust and was betrayed. I HOPE CELAENA COMES FOR YOU 🫵🏻

Book Review 📖: Crown of Midnight

94/55📖

4.5⭐️

"I know you can look after yourself. But I worry because I care. Gods help me, I know I shouldn't, but I do. So I will always tell you to be careful, because I will always care what happens."

"It was hard to care, she realized as she started the trek back to the castle. Incredibly hard to care, when you didn't have anyone left to care about."

Ok so picking up right where we left off, I definitely enjoyed this one more than book 1. I was locked in with the plot and the adventure that it took me on. I really enjoyed the moments of peace with all the cute little moments between the characters. BOY DID THAT LAST LONG 😬.

I think the moments of rage and seeing Celena absolutely lose it, was the best. I do love me a badass women who knows no bounds. I also really enjoyed the plot twists, especially towards the end.

I didnt like the back and forth between Dorian, Chaol and Celena. COMMUNICATION IS KEY PEOPLE. But even though they all had their ups and downs. More downs in this book, they still always showed up.

Im "ready" for Assassin's Blade before I dive into Heir of Fire!

Book Review 📖: Throne of Glass

93/55📖

4⭐️

"But it was true. She wanted to stay. And that would make tomorrow so much harder."

After being on my TBR for quite some time, and the looming pressure of finishing all the books before ACOTAR 6 comes out, i have finally started Throne of Glass.

Im happy to say that I enjoyed it a lot. Im very interested to see what comes next with all the characters amd the plot twists that have been occurring and taking place behind the scenes. Third POV isn't always for me, but I think it suits this story well. I did have some take some moments to figure out who are certain characters are, but then things lined up.

I will say, after reading ACOTAR first, I feel like my brain is trying to figure out how the world's connect, even from just the first book. I feel like I have made some theories in my head but I dont know what to believe or expect to come! Onto book 2!

Both my copies of Mortdale came in and im so freaking obsessed! The paperback has beautiful images inside. AND THE HARDCOVER! OMGGGGG! I got the dusk jacket version and seeing those images, in color, are so jaw dropping. Im in love. I honestly think my favorite part of these dofferent version of books is the little details on the chapters. The arms reaching out for Willow and then Logans holding the heart. UGHHHHHHHHH I LOVE IT! The last slide of that white rat aka Thomas is ME!🦇❤️🫦💀

Book Review 📖: Ursa Major and the Thirteenth Son

92/55📖

5⭐️

"I'd have to be a fool to give you up. You are my lodestar. My true north. My Ursa Major."

First I want to thank Josie for sending and allowing my to read an ARC copy of this book. Im so grateful to have read it earlier than expected!

Now, even though this book was shorter, it does nothing but make me appreciate this story more. I remember getting a lottle teaser about this prequel book when Famg Fatale came out and I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for it. And boy it didnt disappoint! Here is though the other MMCs in the first 2 books were my favorite. NAH JD HAS IT ALL! I love him. I need more of him! And of course, Josie makes her FMCs so badass that you have to love them.

I really love that even though this book was shorter, it was such the perfect introduction to the backstory of FABLE and it just makes me appreciate the ither two stories and where book 3 will go!

Book Review 📖: A Court of Silver Flames

90/55📖

4.5⭐️

Sooooo this has been a long time coming. I have had this book on my tbr for a long time but have always been afraid to read it because of how protective everyone is of it and I was worried about my opinion. I didnt want people to blast me on the internet.
I want to say that overall I enjoyed it. I always loved the characters and the world of Velaris. Being back just felt.. right. Now I will say this book was a chunky read. It definitely was rougher for me in the beginning. I didnt really like Nesta is the begging books of the series, and in the beginning of this book, i didnt like her either, but ended up kiling her towards the end. I love my boy Cassian and his comedic breaks but also moments of vulnerability.
The first two parts were... ok. Part 3 is where I personally felt it was picking up and then part 4 is where everything came together and I locked in. Throughout the whole story I know that we see a side that hasn't really be shown throughout the ACOTAR series. We are finally dealing with the aftermath of the war, the news of a pregnancy, and how different people deal with different emotions.
I can relate to how Nesta feels with her grief and how she essentially let it eat her whole. She didnt want to let anyone in nor did she feel like she deserved anything. Im not stranger to grief. Grief can take you on a rollercoaster that you never asked to be on. You quite literally go through so much without properly doing things, and sometimes you find an outlet or even different people that you gravitate towards that you normally wouldn't. You find who you are buried under so much pain and sadness that when yoi come out the other side, you are essentially a different person. And that why I feel like I understood Nesta in those parts. I just didnt like the constant back and forth that she was giving everyone for so long until she broke. Until she realized what she did was wrong.
I also felt that going from first person povs in the first four books to then switching into third, really threw me off, but i think I understood why it was formatted that way.
