On this day in 2008, Newburgh Art Supply opened its doors for the first time. Support and input from our customers has never wavered. Community and relationships and connections and amazing friendships have all developed here. We’ve learned as much from our customers as they’ve learned from us and it’s reflected in our inventory. Your continued trust that you place in us has been the foundation of our success. As from the start, this is the one place on this earth you will still be able to experience Gerardo’s spirit and enthusiasm for the arts. Thank you all for your support!

The Lightbulb Project 2014 artist Gerardo Castro @gcastroart. Artist Statement: Religion is one of the elements of that ongoing process of the peoples of the Caribbean. For practitioners of African spirituality, healing often comes in the form of liberation and resistance. African and Black Diasporic spirituality (Santeria, Candomble, Vodun, and Hoodoo) are made even more pressing considering the centuries-long attempts by European slave owners, colonists, and neo-colonists to suppress and demonize these religions and now, in a time when America's racist foundation has been pushed to the foreground, seeking solace in this connection feels especially poignant.

The Lightbulb Project 2016 artist Tondo Virek @world_of_tondo . Artist Statement: Whether we decide to contribute or opt-out, we still have to live within the constraints of society. Despite our efforts toward "green" movements and being environmentally conscious there is still a level of hypocrisy that can't be avoided. Our society as a destructive machine has been set into motion long ago.

The Lightbulb Project 2016 artist STEVE GERBERICH @gerbography Artist Statement: An alchemist of odds and ends, Steve Gerberich is always searching for possibilities: a plastic dinosaur for this, a hamster wheel for that.
