the scorched throne duology

dont mind me, I have a new 5 star duology that I will never get over nor forget, so now I will torture you all until you have read it because oh my lord I am EMPTY. Sara wtf GIVE me a novella, seriously… you can have my lung??

the plot of this duology was amazing, the slow burn, the tension, the TRUE enemies to lovers but oh the LOVE. the love not just between our fmc and mmc, but between all of the characters and each relationship, every sacrifice and every impossible decision. It was so complex, so painfully human and so utterly devoted. It was devastating and I need you to read it. the song is one I immediately assigned to this duology after finishing it, and I even did one better and gave you some mesmerising quotes to convince you to read so SWIPE so you can see arin being the ultimate yearner👀

okay, I’m not done talking about these, but for now I shall be quiet (to my besties I’m sorry you’ll hear me talking about this duology forever but I’m actually not👀)

I have so many orange books (more that aren’t even in the picture) that I had no excuse to not do an autumn stack or at the very least an orange stack🍂 *ignore my messy shelves though*

now that we’re in october, who’s ready for halloween??🎃we’ve planned a pumpkin field trip and a halloween trip (mostly for Lillie) which we’re excited about and not to mention the movie nights🙈I am a horror film girl through and through

happy release day @charlottebplumb for this immaculate dark gothic romantasy, which I had the honour of arc reading and LOVED💜

I then got to meet Charlotte last night hosted by @paperandword (on both of our birthdays) and it was so dreamy and dark, just utter perfection as well as showing her this journal page (and she signed it eek🥹)

if you haven’t read this yet, it’s a must!! Kit will suddenly be very high on your fictional bf list and the ending will have you standing UP🙈

blurb:

For fans of Rachel Gillig and Hannah Whitten, prepare to bargain everything for the gothic romantasy of the year...

The penniless in Blackbridge only have two choices: sell your body, or sell your soul. And thanks to Eda Shaw, business is booming.

Indentured to a capricious demon, Mr Night, Eda and her brothers arrange illicit Pacts on his behalf, luring the city’s most desperate into trading years of their lives for their deepest desires.

When a Pact goes awry, her brothers are arrested and Eda quickly realises she’ll need an infernal ally of her own: Kit’rath, a demon with a curious penchant for humanity, and the only being in Blackbridge Mr Night seems to fear.

But Kit’s help doesn’t come cheap. Eda’s already given him her soul; she can’t afford to give him her heart. by @theliterarywitchx

it’s my birthday🥹it feels so surreal that a year ago I was starting my final year at university and didn’t really have an idea on who I was or who I wanted to be, I was reading so many books and getting lost in new worlds that I never wanted to leave and now I have all of you guys🤍

so this is just a lil appreciation post for life lately, the friends I’ve made and the books I’ve read🫶🏼

qotd: what are you grateful for?

okay, we all know book lovers are truly in their element in autumn, so go treat them! (or yourselves)🤞🏼😌

I was kindly sent these gorgeous sets by @books2dooruk and I cannot WAIT to dive into the Red Rising series and The Plated Prisoner series! 👀and we all know Lady of Darkness is one of my all-time favourites, so of course having the whole series as shelf trophies was a must!!🥹

if you’re ready to treat yourself, you can use ELL10 for a discount over at @books2dooruk to finally pick up those books you’ve been wanting… or go all out and get the complete series👀🤭

because honestly, is there a better autumn treat than a stack of books?🍂🫶🏼

I think one thing I love about reading is when it feels raw enough, or emotionally attaching that it brings up real physical emotions, and I’m talking sobbing, gasping, heart palpitations type of feelings because I LOVE some tragedy even though I also hate it…

these are just some of the books where if you’ve read them, you understand the devastation of reading these quotes🥲
