For over 10 years @thelittlegingerfox has told me about this lovely slice of Northern California that she grew up in. Where the redwood trees meet the ocean waves within minutes. It sounds almost too good to be true, right? But I finally made the visit and boy was she right. There are so many microclimates here that its become a major study of the local collage & is a place unlike any other. I still feel like I've hardly scratched the surface. But I did find lovely, friendly people and the most gorgeous locations. Peep a little magic of Humboldt County joy for yourself 🫶✨

I can't believe it's not AI 🤯 This is a real treehouse outside of Santa Cruz, in Boony Doon, California. You can sleep, swaying & suspended in the redwood forest trees after climbing up a 30ft ladder. Down below, a separate bridge leads you to a hot shower with a forest view. It's even outfitted with a queen bed, heater, bungee-cord room & picnic grill area. Talk about the dream Airbnb. Add this to your Bali bucket list!!

The Tegallalang Rice Terraces have been shaped by generations of Balinese farmers using the ancient subak irrigation system, where nature, community, and tradition work together in perfect balance. Every emerald step tells a story that has been growing for centuries.

✨ Best time to visit: Arrive between 7:00 and 9:00 AM. The temperatures are cooler, the lighting is beautiful for photos, and you’ll avoid the biggest crowds. Late afternoon (around 4:00 PM) is another great option if you don’t mind sharing the trails with more people.

🎟️ Entrance fee: Expect to pay around IDR 50,000 (about $3 USD) plus cash if you want to try one of the famous Bali swings or other photo experiences.

🎒 What to bring:
• Comfortable walking shoes or sandals with grip
• Water because the stairs can be surprisingly steep
• Sunscreen and a hat
• Cash for entrance, swings, and local vendors
• Bug spray if you’re staying into the evening
• A camera because every corner looks unreal

🌿 Good to know:

POV: 7 Strangers. Floral Pool Parties. Floating Breakfasts. Rice Patty Fields. Cooking Classes. Monkey Forests. Authentic Balinese Dances. Beaches. Day Clubs. Laughter. And Love!

Some of my favorite memories didn’t come from the places I traveled to. They came from the people I met along the way!!

Hosting this Bali group trip reminded me that there’s something really special about putting a bunch of strangers in one beautiful place and watching them leave as lifelong friends. The sunrise walks, late night conversations, spontaneous adventures, and the kind of laughter that only happens when no one is in a rush to be anywhere else.

Group trips have a way of changing you. They push you outside your comfort zone, introduce you to people you never would’ve crossed paths with, and somehow make the world feel a little smaller.

Bali was just the beginning.
I’ve been dreaming up our next adventure, and let’s just say... Costa Rica has been calling my name. 🌿🤍
